MARVEL SNAP's Hot Location this weekend is Wakandan Embassy!

Wakandan Embassy is a hand-buffing dream, and has a decent number of synergistic cards: cards that create copies of themselves (Mister Sinister, Multiple Man, and Swarm) or cards that double their power (Black Panther, Deadpool). It's also sometimes nice to just get a little boost, y'know?

However you choose to plan for the Hot Location, you'd better get used to it; being a Hot Location means that Wakandan Embassy will have a 60% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 7 PM PT Saturday night to 7 PM PT Sunday night (2 AM UTC Sunday to 2 AM UTC Monday).

Hot Decks for Wakandan Embassy

We're not just going to give you some vague pointers about what cards you could run at Wakandan Embassy; how about some actual decks to try out? We've got decks for players still pushing past Pool 1, players rising through Pool 2, or players peaking at Pool 3.

Odin Reveal (Pool 1)

This Pool 1 deck uses On Reveal effects to fight for the board and, while it doesn't make many provisions for the Hot Location, it can still use those boosts to its advantage with cards like Angela and Wolfsbane that can boost their own power a bit more. Mantis and Cable will put your opponent's cards in your hand, often early enough to get the boost from the Embassy, then White Queen has a chance to swipe another buffed card. The deck can top out at Devil Dinosaur or Odin. If you have Black Panther, it should be a good addition in place of whatever card you like least.

Move (Pool 2)

Multiple Man likes getting extra stats, so he should do very well with Wakandan Embassy as the Hot Location. This Move deck isn't too different from your standard Pool 2 list, except that we've decided to add in Black Panther (run Vision if you don't have him) and Okoye for extra stats in the late game. If you're familiar with Move strategies, this deck won't take you too far outside your comfort zone.

Discard (Pool 2)

Another Pool 2 deck that hasn't changed a whole lot for the Hot Location, because it doesn't need to. Swarm is both a great discard target and a target for the Hot Location, as is Mister Sinister. This deck feeds Morbius with its plenitude of Discard effects, gets more buffs with Nakia, and looks to land a big Apocalypse on turn 6. Barrin that, it'll try to empty its hand for Strong Guy.

Destroy (Pool 3)

As mentioned, Deadpool is a Pool 3 card that works magnificently with a buff from Wakandan Embassy and so our highlighted Pool 3 deck is a Destroy deck trying to blow him up as much as possible - with Carnage, with Killmonger, with Venom. Mister Sinister works great with the Hot Location, and as feed for Venom. Death makes sense as a finisher in such a Destroy-heavy Deadpool deck, and Wave is here to make Death even cheaper.

What are Hot Locations in MARVEL SNAP?

There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP.

  • Sunday's Hot Location that have a 60% chance to appear for the next 24 hours.
  • Wednesday's Featured Location that have a 40% chance to appear for the next 48 hours.

Unlike the Featured Location (which is always a new Location), Sunday's Hot Location will pull from the pool of existing Locations. Its increased appearance rate will shake up the meta for a day - for example, Odin was the finisher of choice for many players when Kamar-Taj was the Hot Location.
