MARVEL SNAP's The Power Cosmic Season is Ending Soon - Decks to Play and Things to Know

There's only a few days left until MARVEL SNAP's The Power Cosmic Season ends at 7 PM PT on Monday, January 2 (2 AM UTC Tuesday, 3 January).

Here's some things you might need to know before the season ends, and some decks that can help you climb in the season's waning days.

Rank Reset

When the next season begins, every player will be reset to the rank that is 30 levels below their current rank (not highest rank). For instance, if you are sitting in Omega rank, you will reset to level 50 Platinum.

You move to the bottom of whatever rank you reset to; if you're sitting at level 69 Diamond you still go all the way down to level 30 Silver at the reset. Keep that in mind if you're currently near the bottom of a rank - there is no rank floor to stop your slide, so you can go below it and that will change where you start next season.

No player will be reset below rank 10, provided that they've gotten above it prior to the reset.

Ranked and Season Rewards

All ranked and Season Pass rewards that you've earned will automatically be claimed for your account once the season ends if you haven't manually claimed them - you don't need to worry about them going away if you don't claim them, but you should probably still make sure that you claim them anyway.

Season Pass Card and Exclusive Cosmetics

When The Power Cosmic Season ends, its Season Pass card, Silver Surfer, will be added to Series 5, but only briefly. The standard procedure for Season Pass cards is that they will be added to Series 3 during the Season that begins eight weeks after their initial release - February, in the case of Silver Surfer.  However, since the Series migration requires a patch, we don't expect him to enter Series 3 exactly eight weeks later, but we know he will enter Series 3 sometime during the February 2023 season. Until then, he's in Series 5.

The Power Cosmic Season Pass cosmetics - the Variants, Avatars, and card back - are exclusive to this month's Premium Season Pass; Second Dinner has no plans to make them available at a later date, like they will do with the cosmetics from beta Season Passes. If you want to add these cosmetics to your collection, this is your last chance to grab them by buying the Premium Season Pass.

Infinite Decks for Last-Minute Laddering

If you're trying to climb to the next rank or you're on the cusp of hitting Infinite, we've gathered some decks from the MARVEL SNAP community that players have used to hit Infinite rank this month.

Sera Surfer

Over on the OutOfCards Discord, Trimutius shared this Silver Surfer list that uses Goose and Storm to limit its opponent's options, then drop a huge influx of Power on turn 6 thanks to Silver Surfer and Sera.

Ramp

If you're a recovering Hearthstone Druid main, you can scratch that itch with this Ramp deck from SNAP content creator OrmAlpha, who used it to reach Infinite. The deck has a number of big finishers to play early thanks to Electro and Wave, overwhelming an unprepared opponent.

Cerebro

We all love symmetry, and the most symmetrical card in MARVEL SNAP is Cerebro. This Cerebro 2 list from Dekkster adds in the slight spice of Yellowjacket, who requires a little more foresight but rewards the careful pilot with a free 2 Power card.

Midrange

Midrange decks do exist in MARVEL SNAP, case in point: this list from Whiplash that looks to play out the most Power each turn, keeping it ahead in the fight for board, then can finish off the game by copying its opponent's last turn with Leader alongside an unexpected move from the underrated Vision.

Combo

This deck, one of several that got Maverick to Infinite this season, uses bounces from Beast and Falcon to feed The Collector, Angela, and Bishop a steady diet of 1-Cost cards.
