With the most recent patch, a new game mode has been added to MARVEL SNAP: Friendly Battle! We've got a quick run-down of all you need to know to get started with this unique way to play the game.

Getting Started

The first thing you need to do is tap the Game Modes icon on the bottom bar, which will take you to the Friendly Battle start page.

From there, you can either create a code for a new Battle, or enter a Code from your friend. You'll have to communicate in the real world to share your code, as there is no in-game way to communicate with your real-life friends.

Friendly Battle

A Friendly Battle starts with both players at 10 Health, and ends when one of them has 0 Health. The Snap mechanic is still very much a part of this mode, as it determines how much damage the loser takes at the end of a match.

Just like in Ranked Mode, you can retreat at any time and take less damage than you might have if you'd stayed in. Your helpful little Health bar will glow orange to show how much damage you'll take, and the green bars show how much Health you'll have left.

Both players choose their deck before the Battle starts, and stick with that deck throughout - so make sure you choose a good one!

High Stakes Rounds start with Round 5, doubling the Cubes at stake from the beginning of the match. You can still Snap and push the stakes even higher. However, you cannot deal to your opponent more damage than you have Health remaining. As seen below, one player only has 3 Health left, and so can't deal more than that to the opponent.

The Battle ends when one of you is right, and one of you is dead:

A Good Time Was Had By All

Friendly Battle is a lot of fun, and a great way to enjoy playing MARVEL SNAP with a friend. (NB: You can't currently complete Daily Missions in Friendly Battle). We're excited to see how this impacts the competitive scene for SNAP; there are already rumblings of community-organized tournaments happening as soon as this week.
