Players who logged in to Master Duel today were in for a surprise! Konami just implemented countermeasures against players who disconnected during a coin toss, counting such a disconnect as a loss.
You see, most decks in Yu-Gi-Oh are much better if they go first in a match, and losing the coin toss meant your opponent would usually force you to go second. However, instead of just waiting for the game to start and surrender, players would just close the game, forcing a disconnect. Before this fix, that disconnect wouldn't count as a loss, thus it wouldn't break win streaks and wouldn't lose you any ranks.
That isn't the case anymore! Now, if a player disconnects during a coin toss, it will automatically count as a loss for them. The notes don't specify if this will count as a win for the opponent, but it might not, seeing as the game will prompt you to restart if that happens.

If you've actually played YuGiOh recently you would know that Konami sought to address this problem and that there are in fact powerful going second cards. You just chose not to invest in them? Please do explain how abusing an oversight to disocnnect and hot have the game count for any player just because you lost a coin flip is for for the other player? You can also legitimitley hit platinum with most archetypes not exploiting anything if you understand the meta, and build your deck around it.

First of all, they're Japanese, not Chinese. BIG difference.
Second, if you're going to concede before you even see if your opponent will make you go first or second, it only seems fair that it counts as a loss.
