Next Expansion hint in Raven cardback?

Submitted 4 years, 7 months ago by

Hi guys,

I know it's mayorly early to speculate about the next expansion theme, but when i was reading the funnies on the cardbacks it said on the new raven one: "could it have been Medihv all along?". Which made me think, would it be that simple?

As Khadgar (wielder of Medihv's staff) already made an appearance it would be logic to think that Medihv actually will make an appearance again in the next expansion as the "mysterious prophet" and with a theme related to the lore below?

As it states in lore: "He was slain shortly after by his apprentice, Khadgar and his childhood friend, Lothar.

Shortly before the beginning of the Third War, Medivh returned as a mysterious prophet, manipulating events in order to arrange the formation of a last-ditch alliance between the mortal races on Kalimdor, guiding them to victory at the Battle of Mount Hyjal.

He was slain shortly after by his apprentice, Khadgar and his childhood friend, Lothar.

Shortly before the beginning of the Third War, Medivh returned as a mysterious prophet, manipulating events in order to arrange the formation of a last-ditch alliance between the mortal races on Kalimdor, guiding them to victory at the Battle of Mount Hyjal."

What do you guys think?

Note: in the event that I missed anything on the forum and this was actually discussed, I actually read alot of the cards but not alot of forum stuff)

I can see this being a thing, I can only imagine their development and design teams are heavily influenced at the moment with the Warcraft 3 remake in the works.

There are usually a few fresh character cross overs when something launches, for example, One Night in Karazhan and Legion launched in the same month, we saw mana sabers Cat in a Hat and Nightborne Pompous Thespian in hearthstone nearly a month before we saw them in wow for the first time.
Now you've got to keep in mind the months of development before their launch, you might be onto something here.

Perhaps with the launch on WC3 coming closer, they will do a similarly themed Hearthstone expansion to get the hype rolling, that's be something I'd look forward to.

    Let me light the way.
