A new bundle of packs has been released today and it's quite a bit different than other packs!
The Mage Pack Bundle is a special bundle that contains ONLY MAGE CARDS and only from Year of the Dragon sets. If you're interested, 5 packs will set you back $9.99. We're assuming since its a pack, a fresh pity timer is available meaning there's a large chance of getting a Legendary.
Update: Blizzard has ninja-edited their blog stating the Mage Packs contain Mage cards from any Standard set, not just the Year of the Dragon ones. We've left the original quote down below.

I welcome the approach to introduce new types of packs, similar to what they did with the Dragon Master Bundle. That being said, I am not too happy about the implementation of the Mage bundle now.
There are Mage cards from the Year of the Dragon, and granted, a lot of them do actually see play, but unless you don't own any of them, you are likely to open at least some duplicates, with no guarantee for a legendary, and, I assume, the usual probability of around 5% to get an epic.
On the face of it, it is way too expensive. Sure, some new players might impulse buy, but they are likely to regret it once they realize what a bad deal this is. Especially considering that, as a new player, an investment in classic cards is probably a better choice, but those cards are not in the bundle.
For collectors it is also a questionable choice, paying up to $20 to be guaranteed that last missing legendary is not very appealing, and if you are fishing for a specific epic, you have to beat the 5% chance to get an epic at all, and then the one in six to get the one you want. And the dust you get is going to be barely enough to craft another epic. I would not recommend.
The idea itself I like, to make more cards more specifically available, but I don't know who Blizzard thinks the target audience is, and I doubt that this will become a rousing success.
Bought the pack and very disappointed :( Only rares and commons. I thought at least I should have found an epic in 5 packs.

The Devs took out all the cards that gave mage it's best decks which was tempo mage. Now we have all these useless cards that gives Mage these average control decks and they want us to buy them? LMAO!!

What if.
they made it so at the end of a hearthstone year, you could buy these kind of class packs for gold. But, only 10 of each class and if you wanted to more then that, then you could pay that ridiculous price. And i know this is Activision Blizzard were talking about, so it will properly never happen, but still, it could be an interesting idea. At least for the F2P players.

This feels like a even worse deal because we’re close to the end of the Standard year. This is the point where we should be getting actual deals on old cards, not more expensive ways to buy them.
These packs would be a lot of fun if we could buy them for gold. We’d all do it to trigger the pity timer, or to try for specific cards we are missing in specific classes. And it seems that that would be good for Blizzard, because if they give us a reason to spend all our gold right before a new expansion, then more people will want to pay money for the next set.
Note that it's Mage cards from Standard, so Year of the Raven + Year of the Dragon. Which makes it worse, since half of those are going to rotate soon.

I have very mixed feelings on this one.
Things I dislike are the same as stated already here, it is a terrible deal. Just too expensive, for the odds of getting something you actually can play.
But on the upside, I do like that they are experimenting with new pack types, bundling expansions with that deal the other day, and now bundling class cards.
The pricing is really weird to me though. Who are they targeting? If it is new players, I don't think that is a good strategy. Sure, some people might impulse buy, but probably not be too thrilled with the outcome, thus unlikely to buy something else. Imagine paying ten bucks for 25 cards, and ending up with a bunch of "meh" commons, five rares and two epics, not necessarily playable.
Also, for new players it might be better (or at least advisable) to also invest in classic cards, which makes this deal even worse for them.
For collectors it is also not that valuable, considering that you have to invest at worst a minimum of $20 to be guaranteed that last legendary you're missing, and getting exactly a missing epic is even more of a gamble.
I hope they are changing their pricing, for a somewhat reasonable price ($1 to $1.20 per pack) they might be able to target a broader customer base than just the newbie impulse buyers, who are likely to sooner or later regret their purchase.
10 bucks for 25 mage cards and no confirmed epics or anything? Although I guess it seems like a different pack so maybe a pity timer will kick in? but it still seems like it should have either been bundled with Khadgar or a bit cheaper
Would've been a better deal if yeah legendary was guaranteed, or even if they gave one golden pack.
My guess is that they don't want to devalue Galakrond's Awakening which has some great Mage cards (including that Reno Hero card)
I'd like to hear it from Bliz themselves, why the heck is this priced at a higher price than usual and how the heck they could have thought this to be okay.
At least guarantee a legendary, that's maybe worth 10 bucks, just maybe.
I like how they have been creating new types of packs, but I dislike this one. I think it is even worse when compared to the last "special" pack which was great value... I hope they do not do this for the other 8 classes and I hope no one buys this...
Step 1 - print random shitty cards that makes mage disappear from the meta for years
Step 2 - Make mages spent 2 euros for a pack
Step 3 - Profit!
Finally making class specific packs- good.
Selling it at a ridiculous price - bad.
Seems like those types of packs will be paying only.. which is kinda sad.. I mean... they sell it at the normal price anyway.. and why only mage?
i think, coz of higlander mages, who needs a lot of legs, i mean, somethnig like 6-8 and a lot of them from new sets and mage class.
I guess this is an experiment and if it goes well, they will do packs for other classes as well, on a rotating basis. I just hope that if this doesn't sell well, they'll conclude that they have to do something about the pricing rather than abandon the experiment altogether.
They saw the year of the dragon packs did sale that's why they do this experiment.. but I think they should make classic packs of specific classes and give it to new accounts.. hope it indicates about that direction.. that's what gwent and LoR are doing..
(if you ignore that the price tag is f-ing ridiculous) these packs should exist for all classes. and not just for real moneys. very good for f2p or people that "main" some classes.
i personally only ever play 2 classes because of f2p and time restrictions so it feels really bad to open the usual packs containing mostly cards i won't ever use
Yeah it's an interesting idea, but only 5 packs feels bad. Should be at least 10 to trigger the pity timer.
