I've already reached Legend, so without Leeroy for me it's just Battlegrounds until the new expansion hits

I have reached rank 11 for the first time, and i wont miss him, and in the process come to the conclusion that i think Druid is a stinky doo doo this meta. And by that i mean, I dislike it.

I have been playing since the day GvG came out and actutally only had him on 1 of my 8 accs.  So it's actually been pretty damn awesome for me, because I crafted golden versions of him on all 7 other names and damn!  Where has he been all my life!  I've closed out many games already with him, including the very first one after I put him into a deck.

I love playing Wild, so it's great.  My Standard and Wild ranks are almost always neck and neck.  I seriously don't understand why people dust stuff when it goes into Wild.

I have a Mech Mage deck that has been damn near the exact same since GvG came out that still crushes.  It's funny as hell because I can just tell that my opponent has never seen a Mechwarper or Snowchugger before.  It's hilarious when my aggro MechMage becomes an accidental control deck because they have no idea wtf is going on lol.

Explosive Sheep, Goblin Blastmage and Micro Machine seem to just really befuddle some opponents.  I love it.

EDIT:  Like just earlier today, I had double Mechwarpers out and 2 other mechs... I played 5 SnipSnaps on turn 5 and just decimated that poor fellow.

i mean its great that u can be facing an aggro deck and once u have taken control of the game but with low health u dont need to bring up the menu waiting for Leeroy to come at u since u have 6 or less health. after all these years i dont even bother waiting for leeroy to hit face. i see 6 or less hp i just bring up the menu and wait for my opponents top deck

I don't really understand. People are acting like Leeroy Jenkins is the only top-deckable burst card that aggro decks have? Uhm, hello?

Mage has Fireball, Frostbolt and even Pyroblast...

Rogue has Eviscerate and a near-endless amount of shoot lackeys...

Hunter still has his hero power, Kill Command, Corrosive Breath

Warlock and shaman still have spells that deal direct damage.

Paladin and warrior still have weapons and semi-charge with magnetize.

And of course there's still the best top deck of all: Zephrys the Great

People are acting like the whole game has changed now that a single 5 mana deal 6 card has disappeared from standard. Which is pretty negligible considering how many direct damage cards we still have to act as finishers.

Because it totally did : the meta is total shit right now, as all aggro decks disappeared.

Rotating to hall of fame 2 weeks before expansion was the worst move every imho.

Dragon hunter and mech paladin (the top two aggro decks) didn't go anywhere.

Have you actually faced some? at what ranks?

Dragon hunter is weaker without leeroy and is not really a threat any more to the remaining tier 1 decks. HL hunter seems a way better choice.

Mech pally was more a counter deck, I don't see why it would be played atm, unless I miss something.

Not mentioning that tempo rogue is gone.

To me, at legend, all I see is :

-highlanders decks (warrior and rogues being quite popular)

    -quest druids

-new priest stuff that people mostly play from trying new cards.

I like most of these decks, but they were more interesting to play when there was more archetype variety, cause HL mirrors are just a game of draw and control warrior mirrors are a time sink.

So yeah, I played 20+ game at legend since HoF rotation, and I miss the old meta.

Why? Now we have 2 weeks of a new meta instead of the same stale shit

Losing Leeroy didn't kill any deck though. Dragon Hunter can still beat you down quickly when they curve out, Embiggen Druid still paints by numbers, Galakrond Rogue still spams Lackeys and has ridiculous resource generation.

It's a breath of fresh air to not have matches end with a Leeroy.

I haven't played much due to having other priorities. I did play a few games of mech paladin to get my monthly rank 5 minimum though, and it felt no different.

Looking at OoC's meta report, my suspicions are all but confirmed. Dragon hunter and mech paladin are looking as strong as always:

    https://outof.cards/hearthstone/1076-standard-meta-report-28-top-hearthstone-decks-march-22-2020-march-29-2020

In fact, even aggro shaman is seeing a decent amount of play. And that without Leeroy.

Also, tempo rogue? Since when has that been a thing during the DoD meta?
