New rule about replacing board units

Submitted 4 years ago by

So far, I like that rule, even when sometimes some decks will lock themeselves into bad plays with the old rule.

The thing is, units created from spells are an exception to this rule and I wonder why? I just lost a game because I didn't know about this, I was about to replace a unit for lethal and my unit got oblitareted. Not sure if this is intended.

Give me the reason why the mind's a terrible thing to waste?

yes it's intended.. since the unit is generated there's no way you get a way to decide on who to replace for it so it would create a feelsbad moment where a good unit will be replaced with.. a spiderling..

I'm really mixed on this change overall. I kind of liked the board management aspect of having to keep a spot open for a new unit to play if you have a lot of stuff on the board. But on the flipside, it occasionally created very boring board states where you're left with nothing to do if your opponent refuses to kill any of your (weak) units. I'll have to see how it works out in practice before I can make up my mind.

Yup, I agree on both accounts.
