Alternate Heroes are cosmetics designed to replace the default Hero portrait of the class. These alternate skins do not affect the gameplay, but merely add visual diversity to the game. All of them, apart from the 1000-win alternate portrait of the default hero, come with a unique set of emotes, and plenty of them also have their own thematic card backs. In this guide, we'll explain how to obtain Rogue's alternate Heroes which can be used to replace the default Hero, Valeera Sanguinar.
For Rogue, six alternate Hero skins exist:
- Cap'n Valeera
- Deathmantle Valeera
- Diao Chan Valeera
- Gladiator Valeera
- Maiev Shadowsong
- Nightslayer Valeera
How to Obtain Cap'n Valeera in Hearthstone
Cap’n Valeera is the alternate version of the default hero, Valeera Sanguinar. Lore-wise, she was a close ally of King Varian Wrynn.
The skin can be obtained by reaching 1000 wins with Rogue in Ranked or Arena game modes. The skin was first introduced in the Doom in the Tomb patch on October 8th, 2019.
Contrary to the other alternate Heroes, Cap’n Valeera does not have a unique set of emotes.
How to Obtain Deathmantle Valeera in Hearthstone
Deathmantle Valeera is another alternate version of the default hero Valeera Sanguinar clad in World of Warcraft's Tier 5 armor Deathmantle.
The skin can be picked as a reward from 10 options unlocked by the Tavern Regular achievement. The achievement has ten tiers, with a new tier unlocked at every 200 overall levels in reward tracks.
How to Obtain Diao Chan Valeera in Hearthstone
Diao Chan Valeera is another alternate version of the default hero, Valeera Sanguinar. The skin has been inspired by the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
The skin is obtainable as a part of Three Kingdoms Mini Bundle ($14.99 USD) and Three Kingdoms Bundle ($24.99 USD). These bundles are purchasable from February 9th, 2021 until February 19th.
How to Obtain Gladiator Valeera in Hearthstone
Gladiator Valeera is another alternate version of the default hero, Valeera Sanguinar.
The skin was obtainable as a part of Gladiator Valeera Bundle. This bundle was purchasable for $9.99 USD from March 2nd, 2021 until March 8th, and it included 5 Rogue Class packs.
How to Obtain Maiev Shadowsong in Hearthstone
Maiev Shadowsong is the leader of Wardens who personally oversaw the imprisonment of Illidan Stormrage.
The skin was originally obtainable by winning 10 games in Standard mode during the Year of the Mammoth. The skin was available beginning from the launch of Journey to Un'Goro on April 6th, 2017 until the launch of The Witchwood on April 12th, 2018.
The skin returned to the shop on March 9th, 2021 and could be purchased for 1000 gold or $6.99 until March 22nd. The skin became available for purchase again on June 3rd, 2021 and can be bought for 1200 gold.

How to Obtain Nightslayer Valeera in Hearthstone
Nightslayer Valeera is another alternate version of the default hero, Valeera Sanguinar.
The skin can be picked as a reward from 10 options unlocked by reaching level 50 of Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Reward Track or level 100 of Forged in the Barrens Reward Track.
