Quite lively card back, like the one we'll get next season.

I don't think it will ever be my default one (in my opinion, the card back that will overshadow Lightforged has yet to come), but I'm glad to have it in my collection.

Now that we are on the topic, which card back do you guys use? Do you have a favorite or do you just use the "random" one?

About the Elemental Mage topic, I was really excited to play Animated Avalanche because I thought (and still think) it's a very cool minion.
However, as you said, it is too slow and you lack a clear win-condition for playing Elementals with Jaina.

To be honest I'm kinda bummed that Avalanche doesn't have Rush: flavor wise, it would have been really on point (an avalanche that keeps sliding even after you summon it on the board). Of course, the Rush mechanic would have changed the card that we have now (stats reduction in order to avoid a Scion of Ruin type of problem), but it would have been a great idea.

I'm quite sure they tested it at some point, but then decided it was too powerful and so they came up with what we have now.

They could start by increasing the chance of getting epics.. sometimes I am more excited to open a specific epic than a legendary..

I got around 15K dust stored in duplicates but you never know what they will nerf so I can't press "disenchant all" button and going over all commons one for one is a pain, also I am in high hope Blizzard one day decides to stop being so greedy and increase the dust per common to 10 or decrease the cost of epics.. I can keep dreaming on that..

Then people complain why people net deck so much, can't try stuff myself so I have to copy what works so I am not stuck with a meme deck.

I absolutely agree with everything written here. Everything.

Most of the times (unless it's a Zephrys the Great/Kronx Dragonhoof/Siamat type of card) crafting stuff feels like a gamble in which you have to hope the meta won't change so much that your new toys will be pushed out of playability.

Unless you don't aim for full collection or you have plenty of dust due to continuous preorders, crafting can be punishing and stressful at times, especially if you want to optimize your resources.

For what concerns the thread's topic... Remember Doom in the Tomb? October 2019? Yeah, the night of the event's launch I got really drunk and I thought Flamewaker Cyclone Mage would have totally wrecked the meta. So what? Crafted 2nd copy of Mana Cyclone and Stargazer Luna (a Legendary I always wanted to have but never had the courage to craft because I don't have good Mage stuff and because of what I wrote above).

To be fair none of these cards are bad by any means and sometimes I even use them (Luna is good in OG Odd Mage, now even better with Arcane Amplifier), but yeah after 10 games or so I realized that spending 2000 dust while drunk is not as good as you might think.

    Much welcomed change.

You don't care about it when you're doing fine, but when you're on the short end facing the same two opponents over and over again feels miserable.
I remember a run in which I faced Tirion literally every odd turn until I eventually died.

Now we'll have a tad more diversity.

This wing has some of the cards I think are the most interesting of the whole adventure.

Cleric of Scales - sweet sweet card, I love everything about it. It's not op but it lets you fish a good spell from your deck while thinning it out. Being 1 mana, you can play in the early game and plan your following turns since the beginning of the match with more options. I really like this one.

Arcane Amplifier - I've played Odd Mage in the last 4 months even without any new additions and now I'll get this bad boy. Another sweet card in the right deck.

Explosive Evolution - I don't like Shaman and Evolve's PTSD aren't gone yet, but I appreciate the disruption aspect of this spell: it may backfire, but you can target your opponent's minions (bypass a taunt, disrupt the res pool, remove a minion with good buffs/effect,...). But hey, more flexibility is always welcome.

I don't know how things work exactly, but YouTube has drops too.

Twitch drops (especially the granted ones) were a really sweet way to give people a tad of free stuff. With the game increasing in its cost with time, I wonder what (and if) they'll come up with next.

darkest hour odd rogue and even shaman are also slowly creeping up again.

Now that you mention it, I do think that Explosive Evolution may replace Earthen Might in some less Totem-focused Even Shaman lists. Any thoughts?

Most minions in EShaman are overstatted for their base cost, bad targets for Evo.

The only good target is Thing from Below.

And Might generates Tempo on play turn, while Evo cannot do that.

At that point you're better off with Ancestral Spirit.

The Tempo argument is quite solid: I didn't think about it. You're completely right on this one.

It's literally the 7th most-played list on HSReplay, your anecdotal evidence is worthless.

Ok ok, I was going to ignore all the stuff I don't agree with in this thread because people can have opinions different than mine, but this is too much lol

    1) If more than half of the meta is split between Rogue (Highlander, Galakrond) and Hunter (Highlander, Face) it doesn't take much playrate to be the 7th list, even more if it contains one of the few new viable cards released literally 3 days ago. Everyone wants to play with the new toys.

    2) A deck's playrate doesn't indicate its strength: remember how many people played Galakrond Priest in December despite it being an absolute pile of garbage? Everyone knew but still insisted to make it work. That deck was at best tier 3 but it was so popular on ladder.

    3) Imagine quoting HS Replay as a valid meta report source. In Vicious Syndicate and only in Vicious Syndicate we trust.

That dude said the deck isn't popular, I referred to data that shows it is popular and you're saying I'm wrong because... you don't think it's strong? Nobody said anything about strength. In your first two points you're literally saying that the deck is popular, and you're last point is just wrong since HSReplay has a lot more data than VS, being able to show popularity more accurately.

The user you replied said that "it can't be popular enough to complain about", to which you answered substantially stating that no, it's quite popular [and therefore complaints about it are justified] (I'm not making words of my own y'know).

Therefore I replied to you saying that popularity doesn't mean strength and therefore it isn't necessarily a problematic deck. Do you see the pattern now?

On the HSR/VS side, the former shows the popularity of a deck spread through all the ranks, while the latter breaks ladder into samples, one of which is 4-1 and tells a lot about meta's hierarchies.
A deck can be really popular at Rank 18 but almost non existent at rank 2: how can HSR show it to you without paying and, in the end, which one gives you the most valuable information?

Come to wild then. the variety is amazing.

yea if your idea of variety is reno mage, secret mage or handbuff mech paladin

That was kind of an obvious joke.

There's an unspoken rule that goes by this: "when a bug is not removed, it becomes a game feature".

I personally think that it perfectly fits what is happening with the cards from the 3 remaining wings.

    why does it fits?

Cause I don't think it is supposed to happen (e.g. never seen Zayle, Shadow Cloak generated by Faceless Lackey before its actual release).

Nutty: if you manage to play it on curve it's dirty (plus I love Elementals so I'm kind of biased).

    Man I love this card.
It will almost certainly see play in Wild (in both Reno Dragon Priest and Combo Dragon Priest) and trust me, when a card is a staple in Wild there's no way it is not in Standard.

I don't know if it will be enough for Priest to get up (probably not), but still a sweet minion.
