I find long reveal periods exhausting. On the other hand, this long waiting hypes me up a lot more! (I’m strangely unexcited this time around)
I actually don’t know what I like more. I guess the Activisions marketing department will soon have the numbers for both approaches and chose the more profitable one for future expansions.
This last patch is especially good in preparation for a new expansion. Rogue Galakrond and Alextrasza are dominant cards that are relatively independent of the meta. This might open a lot of breathing room for new decks.
Good thing I didn’t hit that juicy disenchant button. This will be close to 4K dust only in duplicate rares!
A meta shake up is exactly what I need rn but not sure very interesting decks will take the top places. I bet this is more of a preparation for the upcoming expansion than anything else
Right ancharrr is risky but a staple in warrior right now. Chances are they get a new archetype and pirates lose relevance but the package with risky skipper and sky raider is powerfull!
Stealth rogue is indeed stronger according to HSreplay but the secret package is still very playable.
Metamorphosis is a must have in DH. Those attrition decks need the reach this card provides. It’s the best 2-turn-leathel setup in the game right now and I doubt it losing relevance in the archetype
I’ll start with a disclaimer: I don’t play a whole lot of battlegrounds, therefore my analysis might be flawed.
Anyways, Pirates are great fun! I love both the economy and the buff-when-attacking synergy.
But especially the later is causing some problems imo. Late game pirate builds snowball so incredibly hard from their first attack, that any comeback is very difficult. Attacking second in a mirror is a guaranteed loss. Not only that, you oftentimes lose by a lot because the buffs keep coming. The same goes for the parrot-deathrattle build to a certain extend. Without a huge divine shield - taunt you are basicly Toast In this meta, after losing the coin flip of attack initiative.
How are your experiences? Have you found a way around that?

Unfortunately I did not get hooked yet. Something about HS keeps me in the tavern and my spare time doesn’t allow to be involved in 2 games at a level I would like.
Their approach to TCG content is just premium. I guess I’m simply overwhelmed lol
Uhhh i like all of those! A little end of month distraction.
I just piloted (pretty successfully) this highlander Shaman list to 500 wins. Unfortunately I can safely say, Swampqueen is the worst card in this deck. You just never have 7 mana to spare for a 5/5. Nevertheless I played her 2-3 times and hit eye of the storm once. This pretty much flips the table.
The problem here is, that Rogue generally wins with crazy value/tempo turns (Depending on the matchup), all relying on cited legendaries. If you miss one, you basicly have one less wincondition in your deck.
Edwin is and has allways been a staple in rogue. Long term he is the way to go. In this specific deck, he is less impactfull than the others.
Hanar is essential to the archtype and one of the main reasons you would play this deck. A nice bonus, the secret package won‘t rotate for 2 years. But the moment, something stronger than secrets comes out, Hanar is a dead card.
Kronx is half of the Galakrond-Power. Feels bad to play Galakrond without him.
Toggwaggle is THE card against everything that isn‘t DH or face hunter. The wand simply wins games. He rotates next year though (i wouldn’t factor that in
I think that’s how it works. Except i‘m facing diamond players (10-1) as a legend player. So even at those ranks, MMR seems to play a role.
If you face high legend, i guess you can be proud. Your disadvantage is minor because the Clinb with Multipliers is no issue anyways. But there certainly are flaws to that system.
If high legend players get matched to Diamond 10 players for example, something is wrong. You are much more likely to play suboptimal decks at low rank or pay less attention to the game. Hence, this creates unfair disadvantages for players that are lucky and face lower Level players.
It‘s mostly irrelevant but as you proved here, this affects top 100 legend players aswell. On the other side, facing Diamond 1 players feels bad when you already are legend (i know This has allways been the case).
All in all, i like the new System a lot and i bet they are gonna improve the matchmaking in the future.
No. You don’t get to keep the card if you want full dust refund.

How does it play against DH and Hunters though?
I got to D4 with Highlander mage. From there on it was a one way route to legend with Egg Warrior. (10 wins in a row at the end)
Gotta say that i faced allmost no rogues though! But risky skipper destroys any kind of agressive deck when played correctl
Priest is the worst matchup. Especially res priest.
You got two choices.
1. Overwhelm them with crazy tempo.
2. Combo them down with Kor‘kron and Mercenary
I would focus on other matchups first. You can beat DH and Hunters pretty consistantly when you use Risky skipper correctly.
Just flew on a 10-Win winstreak to legend with this! (Without garosh, he is to expencive imo)
It would be about time! The content will probably release in roughly a month bases on last expansions.

After 5 Years of HS i have finally discovered my interest in the competitive scene!
But time is short and i can’t possibly watch all of it ..
Any recommendations for some noteworthy games? I value high level over entertainment here!

I opened a golden The Beast..... out of all classic legendaries that i’m missing, this is by far the worst !
