I agree. It's so funny that when pilfer was released, people shat on it for being a bad version of both swashburglar and hallucination, and while that's true, it's going to be better than those ever were because it shares standard with such a great follow up. Don't think anyone ever expected it to see play before
I mean just by stats on board, it's good (5/5 for 3). If there turns out to be token decks that focus on a tribe, like murloc or beast or totem token decks, this will almost certaintly be in it, offering two tokens to buff for one card.
If fatigue control decks like control warrior of old will be a thing, they'll run this simply for value. Very flashy and creative way to delay fatigue, I like it!
It's only as infinite as your sources of healing. Jam pack your deck with heal cards? Then your deck sucks. Don't have enough? You can't res this often and have to refrain from using it on other targets.
I like building decks, and browsing them as well. One thing I find very useful while building a deck is checking the curve to see whether the deck is or isn't balanced out for it's game plan. Hearthpwn had it, but this doesn't. Are there plans to add it?
People have already mentioned how this might make [Hearthstone Card (pifler) Not Found] worth playing, but let's not forget Vendetta also exists. A turn one play that allows for a turn 2 3/4 rush and a zero mana 4 damage removal? That's an insane enabler. Pilfer might actually make the meta, that's how much potential thief rogue has.
I tried making a deck. Suggestions welcome: https://hearthstation.com/decks/510-togwaggles-thief-rogue-pifler-meta
Not that this deck would be any good, but this card sounds fun in a deathrattle mech deck with Boomzooka. Boomzooka could pull this out, as well as mechanical whelps and spider bombs, and when this dies, it could pull out a whelp or bomb from your hand and cause some havoc.

It's VERY finicky as a win condition.
