I don't like any of these nerfs. The Demon Hunter Initiate cards cycle out in a few months anyway. Druid needs more help if anything. Warrior and Shaman just got back into the middle of the pack.
There is a slight decrease in gold for similar play, yes, but you're getting a lot cards that convert to dust. There is of course some debate about how to value dust relative to gold, however, even in the lowest valuations for dust, you're still being rewarded more.
They said they removed Velen because they weren't going to add cards to the appropriate Priest archetype to make a deck with Velen. They didn't want players to be confused and still try to build decks with Velen when there was no synergy. It had nothing to do with being broken.

It'll be ok bro. I have not seen any calculations that make the system worse. Not one. And I've been reading a lot.
