I doubt this will see any play. The one-time random 5 damage is really not valuable enough to spend 5 mana doing nothing and hoping the opponent doesn't just kill it in one shot.
Sure, Warrior could damage it itself for some potential burst, but even then there are better minions for a pain/Frenzy deck, even without seeing the rest of FitB.
I was terrified for a second before I realised Khartut Defender won't be in standard anymore. We don't need Druid pulling the same shenanigans as Priest lol.
Seriously though, this seems pretty good to me, just based on the fact that most of the time the opponent needs to go through a Taunt in order to get to this minion. Meaning there are many more occasions when it might be safe to drop this even if you can't immediately kill off a Taunt.
More 5-cost DRs would be nice, but they don't have to be 5-cost to be useful. Fishy Flyer and Renowned Performer are both good options for immediate board state effect. See my comment above for all the other options.
Of course, there may and almost certainly will be more of these in FitB if Blizz wants to push this archetype.
One interesting note is that among these are an Elemental, a Murloc, a Beast and a Mech (and one which summons a Demon). So Death Speaker Blackthorn could potentially set you up for a high-value N'Zoth, God of the Deep on a subsequent turn.

lmao. The whole downside to Highlander decks is they are less reliable than other decks. You literally have half the likelihood of drawing any particular card. You can think they are bland and boring (though I would argue having twice the variety of a normal decks makes this ridiculous too), but they are objectively not the "most reliable decks".
I mean, they did already try tri-class cards with the Mean Streets gangs, but the approach was different. It would be interesting to see how they would turn out if they actually tried to find common ground between three classes, instead of inventing a new gimmick for them to share.
Senior Game Designer Alec Dawson has confirmed via Twitter that playing a second Shadowform will refresh your HP usage that turn, but will not upgrade it to the 3-damage version.
It would make sense lore-wise, but they're not really good enough to be one-ofs. Gorehowl maybe, just because Control Warrior can afford to run single cards, and like to be prepared for every eventuality. But Doomhammer will probably only really be useful for Aggro/Combo decks with Stormstrike and Rockbiter Weapon and I don't think those deck would survive if they had to rely on drawing a single card.
The cards will remain in the Ashes of Outland set, and if you have them you'll keep them. Then you get another free version of all the Core cards. At the end of the Year of the Gryphon you'll lose any Core cards you don't own elsewhere (for example as part of the Ashes of Outland set), and have them replaced by the new Core.
I love the change to Tracking. Yeah, the thinning of the deck could sometimes be good, but more often than not it just felt bad to discard two cards that you could have really done with later in the game. Making it Discover makes it generally feel better to play, and elevates it to the modern standard instead of being this weird relic and progenitor of Discover, whilst never quite being it.

Here are all the Neutral/Demon Hunter 5-cost and lower Deathrattle minions we know will be in Standard after rotation:
Al'ar, Taelan Fordring, Disguised Wanderer, Fishy Flyer, Renowned Performer, Educated Elekk, Razorfen Beastmaster, Teron Gorefiend, Bloodmage Thalnos, Explosive Sheep, Loot Hoarder, Nerubian Egg, Rustsworn Initiate, Showstopper, Sneaky Delinquent

Other important synergy includes: Baron Rivendare, Vectus, Vengeful Spirit

I definitely thought this was some sort of meta "Hearthstone Card" card at first.

Wyrm Weaver is only changing because Mana Wyrm is. It's an obvious exception.
All of these cards are leaving Standard. That's the point...

Hilarious that this was voted so low and then turned out to be a staple for over a year.
I genuinely forgot this card existed. Someone could tell me this was revealed yesterday for Core and I would have believed it.
One of those cards that's never in a deck but still seen all the time. Thanks, Devolving Missiles.
Funny how this was rated one of the worst cards in AoO, and then it was used in almost every Paladin deck for months.
Funny how this was rated one of the worst cards in AoO, but is vital to so many OTK combos.
Th real question is, is this or Azure Explorer the cutest of the explorers?
