I see. I get what you are saying now. That is a much better explanation.
Saying it "allows you to run 3 copies" is not a good way to describe it though. People who didn't watch the video might misinterpret it and think you can discover a card 3 times.
How does it allow you to run 3 copies? It was explained that once a minion is selected, its soul is freed and can no longer be discovered from future bound soul spells?
"deal 5 damage to a minion and 2 to adjacent minions" is pretty good?
Remember when everyone thought Reno the Relicologist (Saviors of Uldum Highlander Legendary) would see 0 play and it ended up being one of the highest played winrates of the expansion?
Not saying it would be "broken" in this meta. But at it's base level, it's pretty good.
I wouldn't be so hasty in evaluating this. It's Neutral, that opens up more cheating possibilities. I don't know what that could be, but there must be some synergy we're not seeing yet.
Not really, Arcane Giant reduces the cost for every spell you cast while this reduces the cost for every mana spent on spells. It's not the same thing.
I used to watch Duel Masters anime on TV as a kid. But everytime they use their cheap-ass "3D" animations when summoning monsters I always felt like throwing up because of how ugly I thought they were (and are). This does bring me back too, but not entirely in a good way. Almost triggered my gag reflex looking at the card.
I am impressed by this mechanic. Team 5 still has their creative juices flowing and continues to innovate. Makes me very hopeful for Hearthstone's future.
But in reality, we see mutanus being in many decks and yet voljin is not.
I love control decks, I always try to find viable control decks. Vol'jin is run in Control Priest (see Zetalot's list). Owl was so prevalent that it was run as a 2nd win condition.

In my opinion, buffing voljin to 4 or 3 even would neither slow the meta down, nor will it make control decks viable.
Of course it won't. Not by itself. Nerfs are clearly more effective in changing the meta, even the devs said that.
I never said it would slow the meta by itself, but a buff would be the most welcome change.
My point is essentially this. In a meta plagued with OTK decks and a drought of Control decks, what's the harm in making a disruption tool a little bit more viable? In Wild, Control decks can thrive because players have access to all the disruption cards Hearthstone has to offer.
If the goal is to slow the meta down to allow the slower Hero Cards to shine in their expansion, then doesn't it make sense to buff disruption cards like Vol'jin?

What OTK is assembled before turn 5 that its necessary to make voljin available a turn earlier?
Also, I don't understand this. The OTK doesn't need to be assembled by turn 5 before you are allowed to disrupt it. Otherwise, cards like dirty rat, parrley, Savory Deviate Delight, Demonic Project, etc.. wouldn't exist.
Yeah. Mukla looks like he's packing.

What a stingy event.
Dormant Minions occupy space on the field. This one does not.
Biteweed.

Guff Runetotem. My 29th Barrens Legendary. First time I got all the legendaries in a set.
You mean Riches and Generosity?
Tar Creeper That really brings me back.
Fanboy here.
$25 dollars is just stupid. Diamond cards don't even look that good, and I already have a superior Golden Drek'thar.
I would maybe pay $5 for it, but not $25. I'm a chump but not that big of a chump.
Is it still $20?

I predict that this is going to get nerfed.

$69 Billion.
Nice.
