great comment - as someone who crafted a golden Luna's Pocket Galaxy on day one (I always craft one golden Legendary on launch day to commemorate the occasion), it is very much a 7 Mana: do nothing card in some games. Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron is 10 Mana: give me a chance to get back in this unwinnable game.
Thanks! tough call on Tomb Pillager, I have actually won a few games without the combo purely by hitting my opponent in the face with Pillagers, Anka, and Eviscerates. Will have to test both..
Yep, seems to be much more consistent - when you play the combo your opponent takes the damage immediately and if they live they still need to deal with the left over board which deals even more damage.
I know this is a meme deck, but in order to have fun with this, you should first and foremost, survive the early game. Most of the deck is consisted of dead cards (the combo pieces and cards to assist the combo resolve earlier) and you also have quite a few dead turns (like Gadgetzan Auctioneer turns, the Anka, the Buried turn and the 10 mana combo pre-setup). Being passive as Rogue won't help you last long (especially with decks like Odd Rogue, Odd Paladin, Even Shaman, Secret Mage etc lurking in all ranks), so you may need a more tempo oriented package and I guess some taunts?! Also let's not discuss the fact that disruptive combo strategies like Dirty Rat, Deathlord and others can cost you the game from a vital combo piece loss.
Hey :) Check out the "new version" of this deck - https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/7390 - same shell, tweaked combo. Seems to work well, I just beat an Odd Paladin and an Even Shaman.
Did you manage to beat any one of the archetypes that I mentioned earlier with your current deck version? Because these are some of the main threats you find on ladder. Against aggressive decks ( like Mech Hunter) this version won't last till turn 5 without any defensive/survival tools. I play meme and combo decks myself too, trust me.
Of course you may win against another combo/passive deck, but aggressive archetypes will ruin your fun for sure.
Yeah, I actually beat Odd Paladin. I dunno. Needs more testing for sure, definitely needs more anti-aggro tools, not arguing - just stating factually what happened during testing

Thanks for your comments! I know what I am about to say is going to sound crazy - but I already tried what you are suggesting prior to this current version of the deck. Guess what my winrate was with the tempo version of the deck? 0%. I'm not exaggerating - it was literally 0%. I played about 10 games, didn't win a single one. Bad luck? Lack of skill on my part? Maybe. But the moment I switched away from tempo and arrived at this version with low cost spells, Cutpurses, Tomb Pillagers, and Auctioneers it just worked. I started winning games and pulling off the combo.
I totally acknowledge combo disruption is a thing, but as a long time combo player I've decided I won't change my deck to account for bad luck. I played a few games with this deck yesterday and someone played Dirty Rat and it hit a Gadgetzan Auctioneer instead of C'Thun. You win some, you lose some.
I wonder if it would be better to run a charge minion instead of c'thun. if you play stonetusk board instead, then you will have a 31/31 charge minion that can garuntee go face. and if you happen to have a Coin then you can play the entire combo on the same turn.
Yep, that could also work - I just like the idea of C'Thun for style points. Nobody expects the Old Gods :) Also, you need board space to play a Stonetusk Boar on the same turn anyway, which you won't have. Give it a try and let me know?
Youthful Brewmaster?
Glad to see that my twitch RNG is consistent with my in-game Hearthstone RNG - i.e. I get screwed everywhere.
Great article. The premium membership is totally worth it for anyone still deciding.
Thanks for showcasing another one of my decks FrostyFeet <3

yeah, this one is definitely better
nice!
Oh, I see - nah, Alfi was referring to my Anka'thun deck which has the same shell as this deck but runs OG C'Thun. Check it out! https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/7299
Ouch, that hurts LOL

Hi all, I just wrote up my latest meme creation - "Anka'thun". This is a super cool OG C'Thun deck with exactly one C'Thun card.. C'Thun.

Any feedback would be great!
It's great to see the design team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in a digital card game!
