But Gwent certainly has its faults. It absolutely needs that upcoming arena makeover and could stand to have some single-player components too (outside Thronebreaker).
I do think with Hearthstone's upcoming achievement system it will make huge strides in its rewards towards catching up to its competitors like Runeterra and Gwent. For example, outside of daily quests, you have to rank up in competitive or score a high winrate in arena to gain any further rewards. You can't just enjoy casual mode and make meaningful progress towards your collection. The 10g every 3 wins is a complete joke of a reward, and they surely realize this.
I play Hearthstone a couple times a month, Runeterra a couple times a week, and Gwent every day. Outside of Runeterra's weekly chest, Gwent is definitely the superior of the 3 in terms of rewards. The thing that really keeps me in Gwent is the lack of RNG and beautiful art. Soooo many times do I immediately stop playing Runeterra or Hearthstone because some god awful chain of bad RNG. That just doesn't happen in Gwent. I love how consistent you can make your deck and how it's much easier to homebrew your way to the highest rank if you play skillfully.
I got a friend into Gwent over Christmas and he had a surplus of resources for decks and premium cards by the end of February, and still has reluctantly refrained from spending any real money. No wayyyy can you get even close to that statement with Hearthstone. The new ranked ladder rewards do help a bit though!
I loved the in-between expansion events they did, most specifically the buffing of cards event! Really added longevity to expansions, making me feel in less of a hurry for the next.
The one Hearthstone thing you are looking forward to most in 2020.
This card is still good as well as Galakrond shaman in general. You can currently have great success with it without including the other cards that are getting nerfed. Maybe it'll feel more fair to play against now? But it will definitely still be a top tier deck.
Runeterra is cool and all but so are other card games. Would enjoy seeing some love for Gwent! It recently released on the app store sitting at 4.8 stars and 16k ratings.
For perspective... Shadowverse: 4.3 stars, 1.1k ratings
Shadowverse is actually doing quite well in Asia. GWENT is also in an extremely healthy state and will be in even better shape as it launches on mobile in a couple weeks. Especially with CDPR about to get a ton of money from Cyberpunk, GWENT will not simply die off.
I like it! It comes off as not too weak, not too strong, just a solid card that if synergized with could be a solid include. Better than most of these 10 cards tbh.
If you copy something with a previously triggered spellburst, would the copy also be spent or have its spellburst effect available?
Now to fight the temptation to craft a golden copy!
To those wondering it is the same damage to both neighbors. So if it hits a card with 2 health, it'll deal 2 damage to the left and right minions.
Any nerf to aggressive, often uninteractive cards is a good patch in my book!
I think they should make his lvl.1 summon a random 1/1 poro instead.

Yep very excited for the expansion!

That Arthas paladin flavor is on point. Look forward to more creations!
Love these cards! Twisted Fate is a dynamic way to control and Black Market Merchant is just a fun card.
You are crazy if you think they'd revert Undertaker.

Cheaper pre-order bundles please! :<

After over 5 years, we finally have our armor tech card. Poor poor High Priest Thekal
Love the creativity into a class that's quite unique! Highlights how little Hearthstone actually utilizes positioning.

The only truly dead game you listed is Artifact.
You can take advantage of the digital space without randomness. Look at the current iteration of GWENT for example.
I'll miss that Headcrack art :(
His hat was a hunter spell sooooooo...
