I think you are really overestimating it. I also don't think it's "bad" by any means and it is super playable just because it's a 3/3/4 with a decent upside but most of the time it's just getting you a card that isn't so helpful. Besides in very specific scenarios I don't think you necessarily have to do a ton of playing around the card. And a lot of decks even can play around it without any significant tempo loss.
You are actually mistaken. Minions that say "Battlecry: Deal X damage to all minions" actually say "Battlecry: Deal X damage to all other minions", with examples in Primordial Drake and Dragonmaw Scorcher. When a minion's Battlecry triggers, it has entered the battlefield. Redistributor as it is worded now will count itself.
