Curious what everyone thinks of THIS as opposed to the typical Pilfered Goods combo. More specifically, using units dying to level up the Maokai as opposed to tossing cards which could effect your combo!

Not sure if anyone here is familiar with Duels of Runeterra, but at this point in time (Runeterra still in Beta) it's one of, if not THE biggest tournament out there right now. This past week was the first week officially sponsored by Team Liquid! =)
Anyways, for anyone interested we have some footage up of Round 7 Deck Sensei vs. Mathonical and in the description of the video you'll find a link to Decks of Runeterra (official site used for deck sharing for the tournament) which has all of the Top 8 decks listed!
What's everyone think of these decks and the current state of the meta? Also, has anyone here been a part of these tournaments yet.

Ahhhh thank god they finall announced Sejuani! I was getting stir crazy over here. She's my second favorite champion behind Volibear - so here's to hoping he's coming in the next set!
Video has ALL cards that were spoiled today! What's everyone think about Vladimir's potential to actually be competitive after just seeing these cards alone? Sejuani doesn't help much, but the others seem to be very good additions to 2 different archetype's for Vlad: 5+ attack and AOE Burn.
That's a good point regarding if the attacks are successive or not. Scout would be much weaker if your opponent does get to make an action prior to your 2nd attack, thus sort of defeating the purpose of the 'Scout' in the first place....
Every game, EVER, has a card like Ruination. Twisting Nether or Plague of Death in Hearthstone; Dark Hole in Yu-Gi-Oh, and various cards in Magic that I don't feel like naming right now.
These cards are needed to ensure a healthy overall environment for any card game. Otherwise, people have no reason to not needlessly overextend and play their entire hand onto the board with no penalties or risk. It dumbs down the game and simply makes it into a 'play all your cards ASAP'.
My first impressions are that Scout creates another layer to the attack phase that will make it more difficult to prepare/plan for an attack to go the way that you want as the defender. As an attacker, you know have a tool to better set yourself up for success. I like how Runeterra has made it a point to make another level to the game similar to poker in trying to read what your opponent does or does not have and then trying to bait it out. I think thus far, it has done it the best of any card game I've seen and Scout just adds to that!
Otherwise, I think the remainder of the cards are all OK, but you can't fully know until the remainder of the set is out. I do think that the Elite w/ Barrier & Scout will certainly give Elites a much needed boost - hopefully they see some more support as well!
What's everyone's thoughts on the new Scout keyword? Good? Bad? Busted?
I personally think that this card change is perfect as I'm sure they'll release more type specific buff's in future sets that will be at burst speed. This card now being +2/+2 will make 'token' decks much more viable in the future. This also sort of HAD to happen due to Pack also getting a change.
Hey, everyone! So, just wanted to get some feedback on what everyone else's thoughts are on this new patch. I'm going to put some here in writing that I'm more curious about than other cards, but I did put up an entire video on each card change on YouTube if ya' wanna check it out: Patch 0.9.2 Review
Anyways, here's what I think on some of these. Also, I mentioned being Diamond purely so people can understand where some of these thoughts are coming from competitively. Obviously a Gold player may not necessarily be worse than a Diamond player, but the decks they're going to see more frequently will be largely different on ladder, etc.
Kalista - What's everyone's thoughts here? I really don't see her seeing much more play, however I do think she opens the game up a bit for some more combo deck idea's (just a quick example is her re-summoning a Rekindler to get a Draven, etc.). However, I still don't think she'll end up being good until a large amount of new cards are released.
Black Spear - Also think this was uneeded? Like wtf? Now this card just seems like another Get Excited - not sure if that was Riot's intention with this nerf? This also retroactively hurts Kalista even more - not like she needed that!
Iceborn/Pack Mentality -I know these still aren't necessarily OP cards, but I do feel that when the right cards are released that these cards will be incredibly good for some sort of token deck. I do believe Pack Mentality got substantially better now that it can't be denied with targeting spells and even though Iceborn can NOW get denied with targeting spells, I do think it's better with a +2 reward instead of +1.
Mark of the Isles -Is it me, or was this card just a giant friggin' mistake in the entire game? This was easily, in my opinion, the most OP card until this nerf....
Ooooo, pairing her with Heimer does actually seem good AND fun - I'll give this a shot and let you know what I come up with! Looking forward to this! =)
So I recently started playing with this deck a bit the last week or so (which is about how new this deck is as well) and not only is it STUPID easy to pilot but it will also help you ladder FAST! My question is, do you think this deck will actually last as a #1 mid-range option or is this just a result of the current meta BEFORE the patch changes that were just announced today? I just feel like this deck is too simple and too one-sided as far as strategy is concerned to see any true longevity in competitiveness. What's everyone think!?
Alright, so I am DETERMINED to make Corina playable/competitive in some sort of deck prior to another set coming out. Has anyone managed to do this successfully yet!?
I tried out a deck utilizing her and Scribe of Sorrows as the the only followers (and Chronicler of Ruin) and it works OK (just posted up a video today with some gameplay: Corina/Scribe Deck Gameplay; gameplay starts a bit later in the video) but one of the biggest downsides to her effect is decking out. If she's played in a sort of control deck (which is what the Scribe deck is turning out to be), you run the risk of decking out. I did actually lose a game running out of cards for the very first time with her.
If you made a deck with her, please post the code or link - I'd love to see it and test it out! =)
Not sure why no one seems to be playing this deck right now! It's insanely aggressive, insanely fast, and INSANELY fun! Highly recommend it for laddering pre-platinum! Pretty positive this is much better than the Noxus & PiltoverZaun aggro decks floating around!
Anyone have any suggestions for changes to make to this? I'm super up-in-the-air with adding more followers or not since the Chain Vests and Radiant Strike's are SO good for early game field control.
So what's everyone think about the nerfs/buffs so far!? I'm honestly curious to see what everyone thinks about the fact that Lux has been buffed for a THIRD time now, which seems odd. I can't think of too many times in card games where cards were buffed multiple times. Plenty that were nerfed multiple times....=(
Also, from what I've seen so far on the ladder it seems like control isn't taking over after these nerfs which I think is AMAZING! I think it shows that there will be a very healthy metagame moving forward. I've seen plenty of Noxus/P&Z aggro decks that do just fine racing some control matchup's, etc.
SOOOOO happy with the nerfs to Fearsome & Elusive's as well - they managed to significantly reduce their power while still ensuring that each card is 100% playable. Whatcha all think!?

Title!! VERY curious! What did everyone get in their weekly vault? Also, what are your thoughts on NOT being able to buy what you want in the beginning to essentially make all possible deck combinations? I've seen a lot of people complaining that they can't build certain decks yet.

I'm asking this because obviously part of the game designers intent was to have decks be built around champions stronger effects. As of now, I am seeing plenty of decks do extremely well with absolutely no champions in them - and it's more than I'd honestly even like to see. What's everyone's thoughts on this?

To put it simply: it's more complex - and SPELL MANA.
Those are really the two reasons why I feel it will do better than Hearthstone (I still play HS as well) and ultimately compete with MTG. =)
