I just had a game in wild where I was playing a rough battlecry shamen deck (not full meme) and I played a secret mage.  I lost mainly due to not drawing my heals and being stuck with Yogg in my hand.  Basically at the end I really wanted my final comment to be 'boring'.  This is a salty response so we don't want to encourage it but we can allow it within boundaries.

So I guess the questions are, would we want this response to be available and how much would we be willing to pay for it.  If Blizzard sold me that emote for £2 at the end of that game, yeah I might have been in.  Do you have games where you'd pay more?  Is this silly or is monetizing our salt a viable strategy?

I like mind control tech because it's the fear of the card more than the card itself that makes the difference.  So many times i'm thinking I can push for the win but this card holds me back.  I think it makes for interesting decisions about how much you want to risk.  Without it we still have board clears but having a minion stolen feels a bit different.

Yeah if this comes down on turn 6 I'm really not too worried.  Voidcaller coming out early is the main issue.  Later in the game you have the tools to cope.

Seems like a nice selection.  I hope that we get some similar replacements for mind control tech as it keeps certain play styles in check.

There is no way this means RIP secret mage.  You can win plenty of games without Aluneth and even if you play it, you only really need it to go off once.  I reckon it'll be like eater of secrets - sometimes it might wreck their game plan but more often it will wreck yours.

Wild is already broken with stuff like this.

I think some kinds of randomness are better than others.  For example I'll have a lot of discover in my decks - this is a bit random but it also lets me develop my hand to suit the match.

Also loved the stuff about the design of hearthstone - I hadn't thought about things like being unable to interact with your hand except in the case of playing cards.  Would be great to understand if adding this is seen as too much work/risk from a coding standpoint or if it's all about keeping the game simple.

It definitely feels more expensive. I play more and more wild as I can usually freshen up decks there with some new cards as opposed to needing add 3 or 4 new legendaries.

After seeing all the cards i've got slightly more hope that bomb warrior won't kill highlander decks.  I think the overall power levels have went up and I think that might mean that bomb warrior struggles to keep up.  Yeah with Dr Boom out there it can still go long but the bomb strategy seems a little less powerful now.

I’m all for it. Look if it goes a bit wrong and it’s warping the meta - fine let’s nerf it. I think the card will be fun if you run into it occasionally and we can always nerf if it gets too much.

I've had Grand Archivist in a lot of decks and always end up removing it.  Random can be fun but I never feel the odds are good enough with this card.

I’m guessing it’s been a long night at Blizzard Towers trying to get all this fixed.

Looking forward to the changes. Just hope the changes to mechs don’t make dr boom to powerful.
