Andrew Yip, Legends of Runeterra's Game Director and more recently Design Director, has left Riot Games. Here is the statement he released.
Quote From Andrew Yip Legends of Runeterra community, it's with a heavy heart I share tomorrow's my last day as a Rioter. I'll be taking some time off to be a parent and partner before starting on my next adventure.
I leave LoR in the best hands: those of team that brought you over a dozen expansions, the Path of Champions, iconic boards, guardians, skins, and so much more. Their commitment to you and the game inspire and humble me every day.
There are many exciting things on the horizon (including next patch) that I'm extremely proud of. I'm bummed to not be the one to share it, but I do look forward to being on the other side, playing like a player with all of you.
It was a 10-year journey to put the 'S' in Riot Games, but the last years evolving the game with you have been the joy of my life. I didn't know it at the time, but February's dev video would be one of my last contributions, so here's a glimpse of that daily joy.

He's been a cool leader for the game, so it's sad to see him go.
Always makes me wonder what led to the decision - was it his choice or Riot's choice? But, we don't really have a right to know those kinds of things, so I don't dwell on them.
I think the game will go on and still be good. And I think it says something that he implies that he plans to continue playing the game, even though it's not his job anymore.
