We've got a new featured location in Marvel Snap and it's Monster Island!

Monster Island is a completely new location being added to Marvel Snap, and it comes with some interesting play options. The Monster this location summons has 9-Power for 6-Cost (nice), although the Cost doesn't matter too much since Monster Island summons it by itself.

So, what can we do to take advantage of this location's frequency over the next couple of days? Iron Man should be a safe include in any deck as an all-weather Hero who just so happens to boost the Monster's Power when it shows up. Arnim Zola is also a juicy synergy with the Monster, destroying the copy at Monster Island to put a copy at each of the other locations, while Shang-Chi will destroy your opponent's Monster for a neat little momentum swing.

What Are Featured Locations in Marvel Snap?

There are two different types of location events in Marvel Snap.

  • Sunday's hot location that appears 60% more frequently for the next 24 hours.
  • Wednesday's featured location that appears 40% more frequently for the next 48 hours.

This helps pave way for new deckbuilding strategies as you may want to be playing something else should the bonus better benefit cards you aren't playing with. For example, we've seen this previously with the featured location, Onslaught's Citadel, which synergized very well with Iron Man.

With the Marvel Snap beta, it looks like sometimes we might be seeing older locations featured as hot, likely due to testing. This isn't the way that it will always work though because as announced in the developer livestream, Marvel Snap will be getting a brand new location every week and it will be considered hot when it is added, as we're seeing now with Monster Island.
