The Pokemon Company has announced that we've got a new Pokemon Presents video inbound next week on August 8!

The announcements will start at 6 AM Pacific (9 AM Eastern) and run for 35 minutes all on the official Pokemon YouTube channel. We will be covering the event here on Out of Games, so if you can't watch, you can swing on by for coverage!

What's Being Announced at Pokemon Presents August 8?

While no exact details have been announced yet, we can certainly speculate!

Scarlet & Violet

Pokemon's Scarlet & Violet games which made their debut last year, are both receiving DLC this year with "The Teal Mask" arriving in Fall 2023 and "The Indigo Disk" making its way onto Switch this Winter. We got a chance to see a bit more about these "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero" DLCs a little over a month ago during the Nintendo Direct, but now with the updates being so close to releasing, it would make sense to focus on The Teal Mask launch ahead its launch.

We're expecting to see more details on "The Teal Mask" and finally get a release date. Both Scarlet & Violet are getting the same DLC.

The Mysterious "M"

For anyone who caught the announcement on X, you may have seen the video clip that accompanied. There were a few frames in it in which showcased the Pokemon brand's "M" before lighting up full neon to showcase the "Pokemon Presents" name alongside the August 8 date. There was also noticeable glitching present during the clip.

The lone M.

Could the "M" have any meaning, or is it just to throw us off track?

Could the M and purple be a reference to Mew or Mewtwo? Mystery Dungeon is also a series in the Pokemon line that hasn't seen a new title since 2020 - could a new one be on the horizon? What about Detective Pikachu? The logo of the first movie was lit up in a neon blue style and "Detective Pikachu Returns" was previously announced as coming to Switch this October. Detective Pikachu 2 is also stated to be in "active development" - could we see a movie announcement?

Whatever the presentation ends up being about, we'll be wide awake and ready to Absorb all the information.

What are you hoping gets announced during next week's Pokemon Presents? Or, more realistically, what do you think we'll see next week?
