You do get 100xp per win as well tho, so there is a bit more progression than just the end reward. And you get two trials.
But i agree, the recent cut on the Expedition XP was unwelcome, especially for someone like me, who mainly plays few Expeditions a week and not much of regular play outside some daily wins or quests. I understand why they want to bring more focus to the Ranked play tho.

If you include the per-win XP along with the end-of-trial bonus, you are still getting more XP overall than you would playing the same number of normal PvP games. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here.
I never did the math, but this is what I thougt. In light of this, I'd say the XP reduction was a good move. I can finally feel good about playing some constructed after my 3 weekly expeditions without gimping my progress.
Small caveat: If you get a lot of losses in an Expedition, it's much closer to breaking even. I'm not sure if you can actually fall behind with maximum losses, but it can't be by much. (I don't remember if you get XP on an individual loss in Expeditions.)
I think you get 50xp per loss and it caps somewhere, cause i got 0 in the past. Definitely NOT worth trying to throw for the xp, even if you would get like 100xp every time without a cap lol!
