Probably too expensive to play for the effect, but its a great spell to get off of random generation.

The deck that could slot this in already has a much better version of this card in Reno the Relicologist. I guess Mask of C'Thun can be used as a Pyroblast like effect for tempo decks. Actually, yeah, I think that's this card main selling point. It's two Cinderstorms wrapped into one card and Cinderstorm actually saw some play.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)

I really don't know how to evaluate a card like this. Its Timepiece of Horror (who the hell remembers this thing) at a cheaper 7 mana price, but essentially much like the former, doesn't really do much when there's a board presence.
But because there's always that small chance you play this after a board wipe and deal 10 damage to the face, this gets high marks. Don't count on it happening too often though.
Way too inconsistent for the cost to see constructed play. Solid chance that it ends up killing only one small minion and damaging a couple of bigger ones, Flamestrike is much better in pretty much every case. Unless you're dreaming of sending the full 10 to face.
[Hearthstone Card (Mask of C'thun[Hearthstone Card (seems like a Reno the Relicologist replacement after he rotates, but it also seems like a combo piece. Maybe Mask of C'Thun gives rise to some kind of [Hearthstone Card (Keal'thas Sunstrider) Not Found] OTK Mage deck alongside Pyroblasts, cheap spells and Sorcerer's Apprentice. Also in most situations it's an upgraded Greater Arcane Missiles.
Standard: Will see play in this Kael'thas Sunstrider OTK Mage, and maybe in control mage after Reno the Relicologist rotates.
Wild: Not sure if this sees any play. It's ODD Costed, but ODD Mage probably doesn't want this card..
Also it's quite surprising that mage got a C'thun trowback card. I would have honestly thought shaman was going to get it, because C'thun battlecry shaman is a pretty decent deck.
Edit: Actually looked into this OTK some more, and it actually seems realy hard to pull off because i think Sorcerer's Apprentice probably wont discount the 3th spell from [Hearthstone Card (Kael'that Sunstrider) Not Found]. Just like how Eye Beam doesn't get discounted to 0 mana when outcast is active with Line Hopper. It's still possible, but you need every 1 mana spell to be discounted from Incanter's Flow or Emperor Thaurissan in wild…
) Not Found]) Not Found]RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Reno the Relicologist is just a better card. This will only see play via card generation or other random effects

I mean it could also work as a 7 Mana Pyroblast if your opponent doesn't have any minions on board.
Even tough it costs 7 Mana and isn't that good at first glance i think this has potential to be a sleeper card and will be most of the time pretty unexpected by the opponent.

Probably not. Avenging Wrath is just a bad card, Mage or Paladin. This isn't really that much better. It's reminiscent of Greater Arcane Missiles, which serves a different purpose than this card, but similarly did not work out.
PUmped up Cinderstorm. Highlander will probably run this especially if stealth rogue continues.
I guess C'thun stole from Rafaam and rebranded it I expect to see this quite a bit especially from random effects

Probably too expensive for an inconsistent clear effect. It's also inconsistent if you're running it for burn as any minion on the opponent's board reduces the face damage output of Mask of C'Thun. I wouldn't want to waste basically my entire turn on such an inconsistent card.

Only useful when the board is (relatively) empty, otherwise a worse Flamestrike.

You will only see this card out of the puzzle box and Reno's hero power. Alright card, but I don't want to run this in my basic deck.

7 dmg for split dmg isn't that good when you think about it on a big board. Too big investment

I don't see this being played in any deck. You might get it off random effects and it'll be...ok? But no one is gonna put this in a deck.
Seems too inconsistent and expensive to run in Mage, even when running Dragoncaster or Tortollain Pilgrim.

It's not terrible but much better if played from a random effect that casts/generates spells.
That is a lot of mana for a random granular damage card. If it was just enemy minions I could see it being included naturally. But since it includes face as an option, I don't think it makes a good enough clear to see play.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
This card is bad.

You don't include this in your deck, but it'll be a fun finisher off of random generation sometimes. It just costs too much and does too little for how random it is - would've been better as more damage and only to minions.
