Very powerful potentially, but it all depends how fast it goes down. Not even sure what the density of Paladin cards in current decks even is.

    I tried having fun once.

    It was awful.

In most cases I think it'll reach 0 mana around turn 5-6, which is respectable. But its basically like Devout Pupil, in that its true strength lies in being able to play a 0 mana 5/5 on intervals of clears to swing board.

Too bad it doesn't have divine shield or it'll be absolutely auto include into all pally decks. As it stands right now, its probably mostly useful in both handbuff and control, as either a companion for varian or a board swing after an equality turn.

I would be greatly surprised if this card ceases to see competitive play at any point in the next two years.

insta-include for MOST paladin decks. Just a reminder that most paladin decks right now ALREADY run mostly paladin cards + only a couple neutral cards. This slots into so many decks.

In wild this might just slot into some kind of Libram paladin decks, and of course Pure Paladin.

RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.

I bet the card initially costed 7 mana and had Divine Shield on it. But thankfully, the HS team was able to nerf it in advance. I’m not too sure if a 5/5 with taunt matters at all in the current paladin list but we’ll have to see

This ain't no place for a hero

That card can fit into a big pally deck.

You don't lose the synergy with Vitality Surge and can be cheated using early pally spells. That card will se play some day for sure.
