Probably more consistent than Dirty Tricks early game, slightly less so late game, might even see play outside secret rogue
Not bad. Could be better, but it could also be one of those cards that is great to trigger other effects that rely on you having a secret in play.
Basicaly Cheap Tricks except better early and worse later. Nothing more nothing less. I guess Secret Rogue needs the draw.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
To be honest, this card buffs Halkias by a great deal.
The main problem I have with halkias is the fact that you can trigger the secret and interact with it. Now we have something that will only trigger when your opponent has used up their mana. Meaning they will be highly unlikely to deal with it without also throwing their board into it.
But of course, the main reason whyd you even play this card is because it draws you two cards for 2 mana. And no player can properly play while avoiding triggering this so its practically an efficient draw engine even if your opponent can see it coming a mile away.
Even with this secret, I'm not convinced Halkias will be all that impactful. However, card draw is crucial in all Rogue decks, and playing around this secret will put your opponent at a big disadvantage a lot of the time, so 4 stars.
Dirty Tricks but better i.m.o. This secrets existence makes it so your opponent has to choose between helping you by spending all their mana, or to keep making sub-optimal plays just so you dont draw 2 cards. Also Dirty Tricks was pretty much a must-include in every rogue deck in its time. And right now rogue really needs draw, so Double Cross comes at the perfect time. This will be a must-include for quite some time.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
It's never going to be the case where deliberately floating mana to avoid triggering this is going to be the correct play, is it?
It spoils your opponent curve, and forcinf unoptimal plays. Very strong
Secret is easy to accomplish and pretty rewarding. I don't see why Rogue would sleep on that, or why your opponent wouldn't make the most of their mana/turn?

Dirty Tricks with a different condition, though that condition is easier to play around the later the game goes.
