Very powerful with Shooting Star and that one minion from the miniset that nobody remembers.
Not sure if Mage needs that kind of removal, but it certainly is nice to have it available.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
This plus Spectral Trainee plus any other spell equals complete one-sided board wipe (barring any divine shield, certain death rattles, or reborn). That'll cost at least 7 mana, but Twisting Nether costs 8 and it kills your dudes as well. Seems like a pretty good deal.
Its the kind of card that sounds powerful but in practice is simply tech at best.
Because what does mage realistically need something like this for? The only existing situation that comes to mind would be against rogue, where they can go completely apeshit and play their entire hand out.
And then this card needs something like an Arcane Explosion to do well, which it doesn't have. All it has is Shooting Star, which isn't bad but not good enough neither.
I'd say mage forgets about removal and just stall. If they do need removal, it'll likely not be this card.
Very good with Shooting Star and Spectral Trainee. Sounds strong, but it might be a bit slow. And i'm not sure if this card is what mage needs.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Good with Shooting Star, Spectral Trainee and... um... Hero powers? Control Mage probably has better tools than this for removal.
