Sometimes we play Hearthstone to win games and rank up (which is usually fun), but sometimes we play JUST for fun, and that's when Yogg-Saron, Unleashed has your back! If you're looking for some deck ideas to make use of the most recent Titan, look no further! But be warned: these decks are designed to have fun casting random spells, not to win games. Sure, you'll win now and then, but more often than not, Yogg has other plans!

Yogg-Saron, Unleashed is actually better after the recent "nerf." Sure, you can't cheat him out for 0 mana any more, but now he casts more random spells than before, which is the whole point! Plus, his previous ability forced you to pack the deck with spells in order to get him discounted; now you can run whatever cards you want! If your opponent has a wide board, you can clear/reduce it with Induce Insanity. A Titan or other juicy minion? Go for Reign of Chaos. But let's be real, you're picking Tentacle Swarm 90% of the time.


Core Neutral Cards

We start with a solid core of neutral cards, which means you can play around in literally any class. Below, I'll share decks for the three classes that have their own ability to generate Chaotic Tendrils, but anyone can use the following:

  • Prison of Yogg-Saron: This prison does a very poor job of containing Yogg's madness. Use it to clear enemy minions (on a hope and a prayer), or point it at the enemy's face and sing Yogg's praises for maximum value! Or, if the spirit really moves you, target yourself, throw your hands in the air, and let chaos reign!
  • Cho'gall, Twilight Chieftain: Since we're going for maximum chaos here, we might as well throw this guy in and hope for a fun anomaly (no, not you, Your Eyes Betray You).

Now, on to the decks!


Rogue Can Do This All Day

We'll start with Rogue, which is the class that is most skilled in the Chaotic Arts due to the ability to bounce Tendrils back to hand for endless* chaos.

*chaos not actually endless, but by my math, you can play 48 Chaotic Tendrils in one game under perfect circumstances

In addition to the neutral core, Rogue also has Tentacle Grip, a really nice card for removing small minions or hitting the face, all while generating more tendrils.

Rogue can also use Shadowstep and Breakdance to replay Chaotic Tendril, Eye of Chaos, or even Yogg himself.

This deck also brings the Concoction package so you can generate options for removal, sustenance, board presence, etc. 

And finally, we have Watcher of the Sun and Ignis, the Eternal Flame for the healing and the amazing weapon options.


Shaman is Totem-ly Chaotic

Shaman is the second class that can make more tendrils via Infested Watcher.

I built this one out of a Totem base, so you have an archetype that can make some strong boards and keep you alive long enough to play as many tendrils as possible.

Melomania fits right in here because we want even more random spells! To enable this, we have Schooling, a handful of totems you can play from hand (most are, of course, generated by your hero power, weapon, or other means), and obviously, Chaotic Tendrils!

This deck can easily lean into more victory-focused gameplay if you swap in Bloodlust or Rotgill, perhaps by removing Cho'Gall or something else non-essential.


Warlock Thrives on Chaos

The final class that can generate extra tendrils is Warlock. Tentacle Tender might be the best tendril maker, as it has the possibility to create more than one, and maybe even a lot more.

This deck uses Abyssal Curses to pressure your opponent while you build up your chaos, as well as Warlock's signature removal/healing options. Reverberations is also here to steal copies of juicy enemy minions, or maybe to give yourself a second Yogg-Saron, Unleashed if he survives a turn.

Lady Darkvein is a powerhouse that can really change the tide of a game, and sometimes win it outright! If you can get her summons to cast Dragged Below or Abyssal Wave, you'll be well on your way to victory. Multiple castings of Defile will almost guarantee a clear board, while even Drain Soul or Mortal Eradication have the potential to swing things your way.
