Another question -- if you have multiple Gigafins and one Maw, I assume killing the Maw clears the devoured minions for all Gigafins? Example:

    1. Archie is playing against Betty. Betty has a single River Crocolisk on the board.
    2. Archie plays Gigafin, which eats the Crocolisk.
    3. Archie duplicates the Gigafin with some spell. Archie now has two Gigafins (each of which has "Deathrattle: summon that River Crocolisk for Betty") and one Maw.
    4. Betty kills the Maw.

...so... when the Maw is killed, does that clear both Gigafins, or only the original one (the one that created the Maw)?

This might apply to more of the Colossal cards, actually -- are their "extra parts" linked somehow to the original, or do they apply to all copies on the board?

My guess is, when the minion is "devoured" it counts as killed (deathrattles trigger, it goes in the rez pool), but I'm not sure. Definitely want to see confirmation on that.

I think the Maw's deathrattle is just  "change Gigafin's deathrattle from resummon the devoured minions to don't do nuthin'", so killing the Maw (or triggering its DR early) doesn't have any effect on the rez pool, one wy or the other.

...yes, or silence the Maw. And if you kill both Gigafin and its Maw with a single AOE, presumably Gigafin's "return the minions" deathrattle triggers before the Maw's "destroy the devoured minions" DR. (Deathrattles trigger in the order that the minions were summoned, so Gigafin's goes off first.)

Do we know what happens to the minions it "devours"? That is, are they killed (and then resummoned by Gigafin's deathrattle), or are they somehow "stored", and returned as they were?

    Specific Qs:

    • When a minion is "devoured", does its deathrattle activate? Does it go in the resurrect pool?
      • If not, then presumably if Gigafin's deathrattle never triggers (because you killed the Maw, or you silenced Gigafin), the "devoured" minions are just gone -- no deathrattle, not in the rez pool. *poof*
    • When the minion is returned, does it keep its old stats (enchantments, damage, etc.), or is it a fresh new copy?

Another possible anti-Dredge tech — anything that shuffles a card into your opponent’s deck will shuffle their deck, so the dredged card will no longer be on top.

Ah, that makes sense. So it might be like they did with the mech skins — 2 different bundles, each with about half the heroes, and one or two free or standalone.

Someone on Twitter spotted this -- the collection manager now shows a "Sha Illidan" hero, which apparently you get by buying the "Evil from Pandaria" bundle. Could that be the next expansion?

Hm. Are you Horde or Alliance? I’m Horde and it feels like I’m fighting way more Alliance than Horde.

If the game is biasing in favor of picking cross-faction opponents, that will speed up the progression a lot

It’s also possible that the achievement is always, um, achievable—you keep getting 10-40 honor per game until you hit max rank, however many years it taks—but you only get the reward (the gold and diamond cards) if you complete the achievements before the next expansion.

That would be straightforward, it’s how they handle XP rewards for current-expansion achievements.

No, I think Flux's math is right. Here we're assuming that (a) You win half your games and (b) Half your wins are against the other faction.

So, suppose you play 100 games. That works out to:

    • 50 losses = 500 honor (at 10 each)
    • 25 same-faction wins = 500 honor (10 for the game plus 10 for winning)
    • 25 cross-faction wins = 1000 honor (10 for the game, +10 for the win, + 20 FOR THE HORDE)

...which adds up to 2,000 honor for 100 games, or 20 honor/game.

Ooooh I get it. There's a "become a Grunt" quest and also a "Grunt" achievement (and same for all the other ranks). The honor totals for the quests are standalone -- "Okay, you're a Grunt, now you have to earn 80 more honor to be a Sergeant". The honor totals for the achievements are all-inclusive -- to be a Sergeant you have to have earned a total of 120 honor all told. And so on all the way up. (A newly minted Stone Guard needs to earn 500 more honor to become a Blood Guard, at which point they'll have 1460 honor in total, which is the amount needed for the Blood Guard achievement.)

Maybe I'm missing something. What do the Quest - Honor Quota and Achievement - Honor Quota columns mean? Ordinarily I'd assume it means something like either "You need X honor, and no more than Y can come from quests/achievements", or else "You need X honor, and at least Y must come from quests/achievements." But there isn't an X listed.

That said, it does seem to imply you can get honor from quests and from achievements, besides the honor  you get from just playing and winning games, so maybe that reduces the number of games we have to grind through...

Correct, Armor Scrap is a 1-mana neutral spell (with no spell school).

Worked for me! Got lucky and filled the board with 7/7s (and one lonely 1/1).

Huh. It doesn't say "random". Do you get to keep picking targets? In which case, what happens if you don't pick targets and you let the rope run down?

For example, suppose I have three minions and so does the enemy (everyone has plenty of health). I target each of the enemy's minions, the game asks me to pick the next target, then I let the rope burn down rather than target my own minions. Do I get away with it? (i.e. end up not freezing my own guys?) Or does the game randomly pick targets until everyone's hit?

My understanding is, Tick isn’t that great a card. He’s widely hated because people really don’t like it when their decks get messed with, but he isn’t part of a winning deck. (Think about how many games you play where you don’t get to your last five cards—though it feels bad to see the cards burn, it doesn’t actually affect you if you don’t draw to the end of the deck.)

On the other hand, lots of players like messing with their opponent’s deck, so Tick does see play even if his decks aren’t great. If you like watching the other guy’s cards burn, go ahead and craft it!

Celestalon tweeted it, and the collection manager for both Preston and Varian shows they get a full dust refund (for a limited time).

I assume/hope if I open a regular or golden Varian, King of Stormwind or Lady Prestor during the preview weekend (or I get it as part of the Stormwind bundle), and then I get the card from the rewards track, I'll be able to dust the duplicate for a full refund the first week? That's how they handled duplicate Mankrik and Blademaster Samuro for Barrens (forum link), but I haven't found a similar announcement for Stormwind.

I just opened my Stormwind packs and got Varian, so I really hope that's the rule, otherwise I just wasted 1200 dust by not waiting till Tuesday...

If the power was “draw from your deck”, you’d get whatever the card is, and it wouldn’t matter whether she was golden. But as I read the power, she basically eats the card, then her deathrattle creates a new copy of the card in your hand—so I think it would follow the rule of “golden cards generate golden cards”.

Also, if you trigger her deathrattle early (e.g. with Feign Death) I think you’d get all her stored cards then, and then get those cards *again* when she dies?
