They could easily roll out an in-game message to inform us that they are working on a fix and in the meantime don't use golden core cards in your deck.
If you are lucky and get matched against people who are reading the news/hate golden cards, it's working fine.
EDIT: I just got a Spell Damage totem playing Standard Ranked. Wtf?
I don't think it works that way. With 500 wins with 1 class, you get a portion of neutrals as golden. Obtaining 500 more wins with the same class for a total of 1000 will not get you any more golden neutrals. In other words you have to get 500 wins with all classes to get all golden neutrals. It's the same mechanic with the old basic cards where you had to get all classes to level 60 to unlock all basic cards in golden.
XP requirements could be increasingly bigger for each level, and 5 gold per level. I don't think botters could hoard any significant gold advantage that way, still some sense of progress would remain.
Would be nice if they added infinite levels past 400 for 5 gold each or something. Feels bad when you reach max level (I did it weeks ago) and past that you get absolutely nothing.
It's a good decision IMHO. However, I fear that while the new Classic mode will bring joy for veterans as well as people who joined the train later, it will die out pretty soon once the initial hype is over and the meta is 'solved' due to a very limited card pool.
Exactly this. The class is just somehow not interesting. I'm still only level 30ish with DH and I don't see this changing anytime soon. The new cards from the expansion could have an impact on this tho.
You will receive the new versions with the free Core set regardless whether you own the old ones. These are not replacements for each other, you can actually use all versions of each in Wild. Not in Standard tho.
Wow that's some dedication! Congrats, dude.
This.
Pro tip: don't EVER play Tinyfin's Caravan :D

Maybe I misinterpreted, we will see. Either way, I guess neither of us will have any problems obtaining all the golden core set cards right away. ;)

That doesn't mean they could not implement something for the 0.1% that do. Sorry but this argument is invalid.

Will these occupy a slot in the Secrets interface (max 5), like quests do?
Edit: nvm, just found the article on the mechanic.

Still a welcome addition to the game tho.
Except Truesilver which is not rotating.
What bothers my OCD the most is the consistently inconsistent spelling of '(R|r)estore'. :(

Overall I'm extremely happy with the whole Core Set concept and it will be nice to figure out how returning familiar faces will fare in the new era.
When upvoting your own comment is not nearly enough.
Where is this confirmation?
Most of the time it's actually beneficial to thin your deck by 2 especially in Hunter which lacks card draw.
No shit?
