1) You are forced to play mono red or mono blue (smorc) when you start as you are noob and your collection sucks which the same thing applies to hs.
2) You have to manage your resources efficiently which feels terrible at the beginning but you are punished by not doing so. When you start, you have to hoard your wildcards until you learn the game and the first wildcards (rare and mythics) must be spent on lands and some core spells which in time will unlock you a plethora of decks. As you can undestand though, crafting lands and spells and not a big shiny biffy legendary creature or planeswalker is not fun. Once you pass that hurdle though, your collection will snowball.
Ignore the people that say that hs is friendlier. They are talking out of their ass. They propably logged in for a couple of days and expected to have the same collection they built in hs in years. The claim about mythics (legendaries) is trash too. In reality, the only rarety that you will always lack are the rare wildcards (epics in hs), as lands and must have spells are in this category. At the moment my wildcards count is : 124 common, 153 uncommon, 0 rare and 24 mythic and i have only bought the welcome bundle and the war of the spark offer.
Moreover, If you are a good player you can easily go infinite in one of many modes.
How about they don't make 90% of the set garbage and then the rest 10% broken so decks buld themselves

Metas are completely figured out in 2 weeks after the expansion, and the game becomes completely stale in the first month.
The only way to combat this is by making at least half of the expansion playable and add completixity and variety to the game. This is where many people make the false assumption that the problem is the lack of new cards. The game as card game, is and has been utter shit, because every match will play the same and against the same decks. Even if there many viable decks almost all of them will be confined in a 2 to 3 archetypes. So you basically have 2 to 3 decks that play the same but have different collours.
As long as:
1)you cannot react during the opponents turn
2)the decks are too shallow and are figured out by everyone after a couple of games
3) the majority of cards are utter garbage
the game will be in a constant stale phase with some breaks during expansion.
But this will not change, nor they will listen to "patch" fixes like op's because hs is not a card game but a mobile game with cards, and it's damm good in that perspective The formula works and it brings them a fortune so why they should change it?

Though, if you can forgive my blasphemy, I can somewhat understand it if it was intentional. OOC has all you awesome people but HP is a much better environment for shitposting and baiting because the people there are generally less ... forums-savvy. There's a lot more newbies asking for help there too; most of the users on OOC are at least intermediate players who don't require deckbuilding or gameplay tips

Yeah, the design team is willing to communicate and listen. I started playing MTGA right after the official open beta launch and i have to admit that they have improved soo much. They have even admited that they are wrong and reverted some changes a couple of times, which after playing hs for so many years, it was a breath of fresh air.
Superior game, superior design team that is willing to listen and the fact that there is still huge room for improvement almost guarantee a bright future for MTGA as long as they remain on the current course. Now if they could improve the shittiest launcher in the gaming history...that, that would be great! :D
Finally a true card game and a true competitor for hs. I hope now the lousy blizzard improves their game. After investing so many years in hs it still stinks that i cannot play more than 2 days before boring my self to death and dropping it for months.They turn a easy but fun and enganging card game into a braindead mobile game with no new features since 2015....

Even if you draw an imp in the extact next turn which is highly unlikely, you will probably have other plays available and you can always tap. Sure if you draw 3 or 4 imps in a row this card is terrible but that will rarely happen. On average this is 4 mana unconditional removal and that's the end of story.
