This is a great point, the wild update represents a huge change to how we see Twist as players' collections are subject to change drastically, which is almost unheard of for wild cards. It wouldn't make sense to just do it for TITANS hype seeing as this will be the only skipped month; we will see both a new expansion and new Twist format once December rolls around.
I'm extremely excited for this mode, as someone with many wild cards but very little interest in Wild due to the insane power level. I think restricted card pools are really fun and interesting, and unlike what people here are saying I see no way this could be filled with bots like Classic since they would frequently be outdated and need new decks.
I just hope they keep the format cycling regularly, like every month or so, to keep things interesting. If the mode is too expensive they can just loan out more cards for free, like an extended core set just for Twist.
I really think Vampiric Blood is being overhyped. 2 mana gain 5 health is really not very strong, and it's unclear how difficult it will be to have three corpses in a triple blood deck. 2 mana gain 10 and draw a card is very strong, but it does spend corpses you might have needed for other cards like corpse explosion. Not to mention the enormous deck restriction of not being able to run the other strong rune cards, just for some extra health? No thanks from me.
I love the Rune system, but I'm really curious how it will feel opening expansion cards moving forward. It looks like they're not reducing the number of neutrals, instead just adding 10 more cards to each expansion, which I'm personally fine with. But in many ways, Death Knights get far fewer tools per expansion than other classes because they literally can't all go in the same deck. If an expansion has one card for each triple rune combination, it's almost like any given Death Knight deck is only getting 5 cards compared to other classes' 10. I wonder how they'll circumvent this problem.
I liked the Buddy system because it gave me a reason to replay all the heroes, even if I wasn't interested in them before. Even boring heroes like Patchwerk could be more interesting because now I get to try their buddy. While Quests are interesting, and I will be playing more BG to try out different quests and rewards, I feel like it doesn't do the same thing for revitalizing boring heroes.
I played a duels run with Darius and my first impression is that he's absolute trash. Other than your treasure there's basically no way to synergize with the cannon, and more often than not the cannon feels like a worse mage hero power.
Can we please just get the ability to see a full hero roster in casual? I haven't been offered Diablo once after rerolling 10 times, and I know that's just bad luck but imagine having to roll a die to play Illidan when Ashes of Outland launched. I get that it matters for heroic but we should really be able to choose any hero in casual duels.
I've really been waiting for the team to add new heroes with unique card pools, but I think getting unrestricted access to two classes as well as neutrals puts a character in the position of being too strong from the get-go. I hope if they consider adding permanent duels classes like diablo, they will restrict these characters to only certain cards. Maybe if they add Genn Greymane as a hero one day for example, we could see him with access to many classes' cards but only able to use evenly costed cards.
Personally I really just can't wait for more mercs to be released. Hopefully they have a regular schedule for this. Having only 4 protectors is incredibly frustrating, considering the rarities are pretty unevenly distributed across the three classes. Added onto that is the fact that building synergies with so few mercs in the pool can feel unlikely if not impossible. I have dawngrasp, but when I search freeze, there are only two other mercs with freeze abilities, and they're both legendary? Not happening I guess.
I think in general when you take a look at Blizzard underestimating the power of decks before launch, their lists are usually unoptimized. Which is understandable, they can't do nearly as much testing as the entire playerbase. But we've seen many cases where the speed that a deck can pop off is drastically underrated by the design team, e.g. old quest rogue, corridor creeper, etc
I think this is a good change for trying things out but it might be frustrating if a hero is drastically overpowered and you see it every game for two weeks straight. I remember seeing Rafam every game early in BG and it got pretty annoying
I agree, mostly because I don't like to reroll 1000g quests, even if I don't like their condition. I find this frustrating, as I don't want to feel forced to play a class when I would rather play a different one, or just play battlegrounds ot something. My biggest gripe is actually with the forced rank win quest, though. Last week I didn't want to play ranked, and I was even on a long losing streak, making me extremely fed up with the game mode. It took me from monday to friday not being able to get 5 wins while playing here and there. There should be an alternate condition for that quest to just play 10 ranked games, so I at least feel like something is happening when I lose.
I saw the achievement unlock on Zalae's stream while he was playing Duels. He killed his opponent with it in the first match of the run. I think that will be one of the easiest ways to unlock it, since you have a very small deck and the opponent only has 20 health. The only issue is them conceding before it can go off.
But in the past we already got additional rewards for seasonal events. If Blizzards calculations say "you're going to rely on seasonal events to get the value you already had," then any additional value you got from events before is now moot.
Because of the weekly quest bug, I missed out on thousands of xp this week that I can't get back. Will Blizzard compensate me or even apologize? Nah. I did two dailies today and made a little more than halfway the progress to get from level 21 to 22. What do I get once I level up? 100 gold. So rather than getting 110 for my two dailies like before, I'm getting the equivalent of about 60 now. Yeah, this system sucks.

I literally can't figure out what Gatling Wand does
Just let them have some fun. If you think they are actually going to have a card that gives 100 armor, that's almost fully on you.

Don't forget Deathwing the hero portrait lol

I wonder what class legendaries we will see. I think rogue is fitting and they really only got one with the inclusion of maestra the memelord.

I would think it would be a BG patch a month into the expansion. That seems to be their update cycle
