With all due respect, I think they could stop beating rogue down, It's been what, 5 to infinite hits last year? Cold blood, vanish, the draw pirate/weapon card, evil miscreant, and prep, which makes an uncountable nerf to all of the big spells and combo cards... Can't be happy seeing another fun class getting destroyed, forcing me to go and play more hunter :(
Just goes to show just how many OP cards Rogue keeps getting, really ;-
I think this is pretty much what I already guessed from personal experience. It has basically been Hunterstone again for a little while now.
But I've avoided saying it outright since you usually get all the diehard naysayers come out of the woodwork. But I think it's been fairly obvious for some time.
And I agree, the nerfs to Rogue seemed to do little-to-nothing...
So today I was doing the random deckbuilding challenge and I ended up landing on Exotic Mountseller. While yes, I ended up building a deck that included two copies of her, I never really felt like the card did anything too useful in it.
Has anyone found her a home anywhere?
Muck Shaman has realyl good use for her. You can often get Muck to copy her, and then spin off a number of cheap spells etc.
So earlier this week, I made it to Legend for the first time, and today, I got to play (and beat) Brian Kibler! I am almost embarrassed to admit that I was essentially starstruck. For starters, I am an old school MtG player, so Kibler is basically a living legend in my opinion. It was also the first time I have ever played against (that I know of) one of the Hearthstone pro's.
And, for what it's worth, I did resist the urge to snipe him. I only looked at Twitch after I knew the game was done, just to see if it was actually Kibler.
I felt like that the first time I beat Pavel! Heh! I was shouting to my wife: "Hey, Mrs S! I just beat the World Champion!"
Good times! :-D (Not that Pavel has the same online presence as Kibler of course - that would be impressive since I don't suppose he ever plays onthe EU servers lol)
I am pretty new to Arena (and hardly played Magic before). I just switched over from Hearthstone (which I still play and enjoy, too). The are still so many new effects and combos I encounter and keep wondering how to deal with them.
As there is no "Classic" Set in Magic, it would be helpful to replenish the card base when a Core Set rotates out with either:
a) Give away the new Core Set for free ... [^_^] ... yes, I know ...
b) Or at least hand out a dozen free booster packs for the new core set (or somewhat similar).
Otherwise, the loss of cards with each rotation would be truly substantial. Or not?
The "New Player" experience essentially sets you up with a load of core and initial cards for the season you are in. I don't know how they handle new seasons for new players, but it's possible that it may include a "Starter" set of some sort.
Ha! Awesome! It looks like Blizzard's finally cottoning on to the difference between Dollars and Pounds!
On the UK version it now sells the packs for £29.99 (instead of the US $34.99) Taking into account conversion and fees, this finally works out at the same price.
While it was always nice to get it cheaper going to the US site, I'm glad to see that Blizzard have taken an active step in lowering the price for EU people like us. :-)
However, it doesn't have the same burst power as QR did.
More like a hybrid between Quest Rogue and Jade Druid.
Yes, let's make a deck that takes two of the most obnoxious and hated decks of all time and merge them into one singularly obnoxious and polarising deck. Good one, Blizzard!
The site's coming on fabulously. One minor annoyance that would make a fair amount of different to the User Forum Experience would be to have a Return to Top of Page link and / or a breadcrumb for the bottom of the page.
This is most noticeable on thread pages with many posts as it is quite aggravating having to continually scroll to the top of the page when wanting to return to the main thread list etc.
I have often suffered from RnG-triggered rages after games of Hearthstone - which surprised me greatly as I have never experienced anything similar in any game I've played before (including CS:GO which can be very triggering).
Random (seemingly unfair) circumstances in the game can cause a sea of red mist to descend and you often find yourself wanting to curse and/or scream at the screen or something similar.
Seeing the opponent get god-draws and perfect answers to everything can be one such cause.
I have found (for me personally) that sometimes you have to do something to shake yourself out of that feeling of "Reeeee!!!" somehow. One thing I will sometimes do (if I am alone), is to stop and think about what I am doing / imagining (suitable death and punishment for my opponent, etc) and simply laugh at myself and forcibly tell myself how silly it is to get so worked up over a game. The wors that can happen is I tell myself to "F--- off" or something :-D
And if I can't calm down, I certainly don't start another game. I know for a fact I will lose and be increasingly more angry through it and come off worse. Instead I'll get up, go make a cup of tea, go play with the kids or simply do something else. The best way to deal with Hearthstone Rage (if you can't calm yourself down) is get rid of Hearthstone for a bit. :-D
I always used to use Curse Client for getting addons for WoW back in the day. Not really had much (if any) other dealings with them (other than using the loging creds for earthpwn etc.
Not sure why people dislike Curse (in particular) myslef - though everyone has their own good / bad experiences with companies.
Does anyone here play Magic in real life outside of Arena? If so what formats do you play? I've been looking for a place to talk about older formats and drafts since the shutdown of MTGSalvation, and I'm already on this site for the HS content.
I used to play Paper MtG a lot back the day - I have a fairly extensive collection, though pretty out of date these days buy a good number of years.
Unfortunately, life and having a family kind of took the place of going to Magic evenings at the local Games Workshop store etc, so I don't get that oppotunity any more. Having it online solved that problem for us parent-y types ;-)
Thanks for the advice all - I agree that the new player setup is great, just with the starter decks I've been having some success on ranked :)
It's been a fun change while I wait for the hs buffs to come in, definitely going to keep playing casually. I think what I'm liking the most at the moment is that I can really see where I went wrong in games I lose and why I lost, and when I win i actually feel like I'm improving.
Very much this! ^^ In Hearthstone, when you lose, it often just feels like it was RnG screwing you over and hard to see anything you could have done differently.
But in MtG, there's so many choices you could have made differently and attacks you could have made / not made, etc. Of course, there is the very rare occurence that you get screwed over by mana screw / flood, but that is often a good indicator of a poorly created deck, so even in that case there is something you could have done differently.
This is the first card I made that caused some traction, both on r/CustomHearthstone and Hearthcards.net. It was made as a logial extreme to Recruit Warrior that the devs were trying to push for like two expansions. It's not supposed to be a serious card, more of a joke than anything.
My highest rated card on Hearthcards.net is a simple Overkill minion. Use this to gain a bunch of Silver Hand Recruits. Unfortunately, as long as Duel! exists (is in Standard), a card like this probably won't exist.
I've yet to see a single player actually play Sn1p-Sn4p so far. However, what I do now see is another boring influx of never-ending Tempo Rogue players who can't seem to let the deck die and be gone already.
I don't really buy this explanation because we have the old school adventures which yes they moved away from but those gave you specific cards for a specific price. It isn't a stretch to use that to extrapolate out the same data that you are so against workers having.
I'm somewhat baffled by this comment. What data am I supposed to be against people having? I didn't say I was against any kind of data. Was this reply meant for someone else, perhaps?
And the old adventures were something entirely different and don't really apply here.

That seems to be pretty much the scope AFAIK / can tell.
I've not had a chance to build it yet tho. :-(
Maybe soon*

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Yes. We all do.

Nice one! Thanks for the code!
@Flux - what's with the card posts? (Or is it just "bumping"? :-)
Love the cards - tthough I think that this card would also be problematic with Oondasta being around also, however.
I've yet to see a single player actually play Sn1p-Sn4p so far.

What I said earlier aside, a non-dustable card would work.
If there are any that you can't get as a golden already.
