First, thanks to Kibler; may his real-life situation pass by smoothly.

Great deck, and yes, it shuts down hunter hilariously and gives the finger to the "priest is dead" crowd.

Alternate cards to consider (I drop Psychopomp and don't have a second Batterhead).

Shadow Madness: Great for stealing reborn/deathrattles (common in rogue, paladin, mirror matches; a good many deathrattles are 3-attack and under) or in a early pinch. Yes, warn the public that what you steal and its possible deathrattle can reappear in mass summon, so there's risk attached. Not like Psychopomp already has that problem :P

High Inquisitor Whitemane: Optional and situational; throw it in if you got it and are missing a card like me (And mine happens to be gold, so it's pretty to behold on use). But playing it after an opponent doesn't clear Zerek's Cloning Gallery or just manually sacrificing minions such as Convincing Infiltator or Khartut Defender or two can be demoralizing to an opponent. Can be like a third mass rez, with an extra big body to boot (and not a bad size one to get back on mass rez).

King Phaoris: Used in the past; not using this now. You got some really big spells in this deck, you know, and could have a glut in hand. If you think you need an offensive super move/panic button and don't care what shows up on Mass Rez, go ahead.

Arcane Dynamo: Not using this now, but if the meta gets slower, or there's a reason to need a three or more Mass Rez/Plague of Death, here's an option. No guarantee of course, but did well for me in the N'zoth version of this deck at the end of Saviors of Uldum era.

Hakkar, the Soulflayer: Like someone's mentioned albatross option, you can use this to ruin highlander decks, and this gives you a possible win if the game goes long enough. Throw in the new Wyrmrest Purifier as your late-game antidote, which gives you random priest spells and minions. It's risky and clunky to launch though, but nice if it comes up in Zerek's Cloning Gallery. Saved me against a paladin, hunter and rogue thinking they could use Zephrys, and destroyed a mirror priest, Galakrond rogue and shaman who forgot how many draw card battlecries he played when he busted out Shudderwock. Be mindful of silences and Sap before using, and don't let the opposing priest use Seance on the Purifier.

im really scare about the mogu "nerf", it's price will still be reduced and it just means that now they can evolve into a 10 mana minion

For those claiming we won't see big Mogu evolves, I've already seen Turn 5 Deathwing from a shaman in wild. And I think he played standard cards to that point.

Good. I'd like to play Battlegrounds on tablet, or perhaps, my phone. Tried on an android tablet and it's not crashing, but you're guaranteed to lose via animations. Get a triple, lose the game. You're also seeing your opponent purchase triples while the match just starts on your end.

Best thing about Battlegrounds: it doesn't really feel like playing against people sometimes, which is chill in comparison to ladder shenanigans. More like a slot machine with some RTS/RPG elements.

What's bad is people are starting to take it to Wild now too. I thought I could escape it there, but I've been running into it there too. If it's viable in Wild out of the gates, to be able to compete with the broken shit Wild offers, you know it's a major problem.

Control player here, and I do play wild a bit more than standard. For the past year, Shudderwock decks have skirted the threshold of being "too perfect" in countering their opponents. The quest and minions offered the quick fixes the deck needs to address early aggro or trouble minions put up by the opponent, and now Galakrond offers tempo and a constant rain of rush minions, not to mention a giant BS battlecry and all the other OP cards introduced in this expansion for shaman -- yeah, it's crossed that threshold and is "unfun" to play against.

/Trying to Dirty Rat Shudderwock these days? Good luck -- most shaman are sitting on a half dozen lackeys or battlecry minions in hand.

Might want to fix spectating games too; I've seen Discover cards left on my viewer and disconnects from players.

/yeah, I snoop during the meta changes

For you Hearthstone freaks … Opening Day Stats! (Wall of text incoming, as is tradition)

159 packs (most in HS opening day), 10 legendaries from packs
(Comparison: Saviors of Uldum; 135/7, Rise of Shadows, 103/8, Rastakhan’s Rumble 120/5)
TOTAL LEGENDARIES ON OPENING DAY (counting package freebie, one crafted Frizz Kindleroost, the free Sathrovaar and Galakrond as 1) = 14

    Free Golden Legendary: Waxadred
Two other golden legendaries! Dragonqueen Alexstrasza and Veranus
Pack No. 4: Kronx Dragonhoof *
Pack No. 31: Deathwing, Mad Aspect * (27 pack gap)
Pack No. 37: Zzeraku the Warped * (6)
    Pack No. 38: Dragonrider Talritha * (1!)
Pack No. 61: GOLD Dragonqueen Alexstrasza * (23)
Pack No. 77: [Hearthstone Card (Ancharr) Not Found] (16)
Pack No. 98: GOLD Veranus (21)
    Pack No. 113: Nithogg (15)
Pack No. 126: Valdris Felgorge (13)
    Pack No. 152: Chenvaala (26)
*Six of Top 10 Most Wanted Legendaries received. Missing: Frizz Kindleroost; Murozond the Infinite; Ysera, Unleashed, Malygos, Aspect of Magic

    GOLDEN CARDS: 3 legendary, 3 epics, 10 rare, 11 common = 27. (SoU comparison: 1L, 3E, 10R, 12C = 26)
Dust from golden cards: 2,250 (+300 from Saviors of Uldum’s 1,950)
    Dust from non-gold duplicates: 4,775 (471 C, 96 R, 5 E). SoU comparison: 3,675 dust (+1,100).
    TOTAL DUST GAINED: 7,025

    DAY 1 CRAFTS
: Frizz Kindleroost, Necrium Apothecary, 2x [Hearthstone Card (Dragon Poacher) Not Found], Nether Breath. 2,300 total dust used.

Number of 40 & Dust Packs (rare and four commons, no golds): 77. (SoU comparison: 67/135 packs).( Seemed like a lot more – I kept getting the same rares over and over)
Number of Dust Only Packs (no new cards): 61. (SoU comparison: 46/135)
First Dust Only Pack: No. 32. (SoU: 39)
TOTAL NO SINGLE COPY OF MISSING CARDS: 18 (10 legendary, 8 epic)
TOTAL MISSING CARDS FOR FULL SET: 36 (10 legendary, 26 epics)

    First Pair: Scalerider
    First Epic: Fate Weaver
    First Golden: Clear the Way
All Neutral Commons Completed: Pack No. 87 (SoU: 99).
Crafted two Dragon Poacher and Nether Breath to complete rares in set.
First class to finish commons: tie, Rogue and Hunter, Pack No. 23.
First class to finish rares: Mage, Pack No. 25
First class to finish epics: Paladin
Classes to obtain both legendaries: Warrior and Warlock.
Almost complete set: Warrior (missing a copy of both epics)
Fairly balanced attendance by classes; received no Warlock epics and only one for Shaman, Rogue and Hunter.

That Card That Keeps Showing Up, and It's Annoying Me: Cobalt Spellkin and Bad Luck Albatross, the rares that made me despondent I would be missing a lot of cards (just missing three rare cards in the end -- but likely useful ones).
F—k you, I’m Epically Annoying: Received five copies of Dread Raven, which I foresee myself never using. Am missing a lot of epics though.
DUSTED ON SIGHT: Gold Skyfin. Death to murloc decks.

Alternated card backs every 10 or 20 packs. Best card backs? Power Core (3 legendaries in 20 packs), Suramar (only 8 no new card packs and 8 40 & Dust late in the collecting, plus 1 legendary in 20 packs), and Shado-Pan (2 legendaries out of 20 packs).

I have to say, it's easier to see what stands out as Day 1 crafts this time -- neutral legendaries. It's the middle of the pack class stuff that's going to be the frustrating wait part. Fate Weaver and Kobold Stickyfinger (anti-Ancharrr tech?) are the locks for epics, btw.

    Day 1 Crafts:
    1. Kronx Dragonhoof
    2. Dragonqueen Alexstrasza
    3. Frizz Kindleroost

    High Interest:
    4. Dragonrider Talritha -- Dragon Paladin finally a thing?
    5. Murozond the Infinite-- This is Priest f--kery, which I love
    6. Ysera, Unleashed-- Probably backfires, but Dragon Druid > Aggro Tree Garbage
    7. Zzeraku the Warped-- Does Control Warlock become a thing again?
    8. Valdris Felgorge -- See 7. Maybe just this for handlock, if that becomes viable

    Some Interest:
    9. Waxadred -- Could be an irritating deathrattle deck
    10. Deathwing, Mad --Big board clear; Dragon Warrior a thing? Probably not

Missing the Cut: Flik Skyshiv; Malygos, Aspect of Magic; Mindflayer Kaahrj, Bandersmosh

I'm curious to know if I should craft the druid legendaries and epics from Uldum (didn't get any of that stuff).

    Definitely going into wild decks.

It's one thing to deal with Jade Druid and be waiting for Skulking Geist to show up, another thing when they do the b.s. BEES! combo 2K armor garbage.

Now can we do something to sabotage Wild Infinite Shudderwock aside from getting lucky with Dirty Rat or making the Shaman panic and launch it early?

/have a golden Thekal I might dust now ... rarely use it anyway

Just to ask, should we craft a Cathedral Gargoyle?

Highlander Paladin was sort of a thing here and there, we got all these dragons incoming and and there's all these dragon-related cards sitting around the pally's toolbox ...

/oh, and ARTICLE IDEA: cards from the past five and classic that might get in vogue with the upcoming Standard meta ...

I'm a bit confused. I thought for sure the keyword for this was going to be Divine Shield. That's a Paladin thing, right? I mean, Paladins are good with healing as well but Lifesteal? Bloodsucking warriors of light. Alright. The card is good. That's it.

You're talking about the class that uses secrets, forces primitive fish-things into military service and makes mummies, right?

/Uther is a liar; he fights with no honor.

I said it from when they announced the cards being brought back -- the biggest flaw in the event was NOT throwing in Skulking Geist.

No guarantee, but it would've toned down the effect of a number of decks.

Skulking Geist has had a good effect in wild against evolve shaman, and would've shot down rogues counting on Togwaggle's Scheme on N'Zoth, Inner Fire priests, secret-using paladins, and maybe have some effect on druid, warrior and mage.

/Skulking Geist is a tech card I do think should become part of the classic set, btw

    Mindflayer Kaahrj
I recall Kripp giving this wisdom to priest players years back -- when deathrattles are in vogue, an obscure tech gem in the toolbox is Shadow Madness, as many deathrattles have 2 or 3 attack. For those who weren't around during Potion of Madness mechanics ... take the minion, suicide run it/spell kill it, and you get to keep the prize.

I've carried a single Shadow Madness in Quest Priest over a Penance for the past few months in the N'zoth event and it's brought some good turnarounds, pun intended. And a few ragequits, so ... WORTH IT. Looks like it might get more mileage if priest gets popular and  Mindflayer ends up in the meta, along with other deathrattles and any reborn cards that make the next cut.

/Fondly remember Potion of Madness days
//remember to thank your opponent priest when you take his Mindflayer Kaahrj now

I like it, but I also smell much potential for it to be abused.

Granted, it's 1 of 30 in a deck and can always be in that last third.

Put it into the betting pool for New Card Most Likely to be Nerfed.

Having fun with Battlegrounds on my PC but will they improve its performance on phones and tablets?

I tried Battlegrounds on an Android tablet; it was sluggish. I saw my opponent getting triple cards while the battle was still underway, and trying to manage cards in 45 seconds or less was a chore, on both dragging and animations. Getting a triple was a nightmare situation.

I want to get a mod in Hearthstone that plays the Shuma Gorath stage music from the Capcom vs. Marvel games when this card is played.

Not totally. Envoy looks at current hand.

Glimmerroot looked at game's opening deck.

Knowing no one uses Warsong Commander probably also helps :P

/cheers to the priest player in wild who uses these, that chameleon legendary or other copying mechanics and one-ups and defeats a Coldlight Oracle rogue with their own medicine; I did that a few years ago

Priest: 1K Anduin. Earned it, and it wasn't easy some years. Don't have Madam Lazul but do have Tyrande.

Warlock: Portals and handlock -- Mecha-Jaraxxus; Reno Lock, trolly/meme decks and Treachery Lock -- Nemsy.

Mage: 500 Jaina (340 from 1K). Would buy Khadgar.

Paladin: Arthas. He is the honest definition of paladin in Hearthstone -- ruthless SOB. Sir Annoyo for memes. Uther is a lying jackass (honor? You're tossing secrets and murlocs), and Liandrin I wouldn't obtain because she is the definition of uppity elf.

Shaman: King Rastakhan. "Dese tings happen!" is one of the best lines in a post-sorry world.

Druid: I set Elise as favorite, but unfortunately, I did not get any epic or legendary druid cards from the last expansion, so I actually don't have much experience using the skin. But Lunara is garbage.

Hunter: Default, but they both suck. I only play hunter these days because it counters some decks I hate more than this class.

Rogue: Maiev has style, but 1K Valeera has the look. Unfortunately I need 949 more wins on the ladder. But I would pay for Captain Eudora from the RoS single-player campaign.

Warrior: Default. Might buy Magni on sale if the class rebounds after the control nerfs and N'zoth overwhelming it.

On my variation of Quest Priest:

Sathrovarr is a great way to get multiple Arcane Dynamo, which almost always give you more board clears or Mass Rez spells, further burning your opponent's resources. And a lot of opponents overlook the Arcane Dynamo as a threat, so it usually stays on the board, getting buffed to a nice 6/7 or more.
