I have an Exodia list that runs Beardo, Thaurissan and 1-cost mana spells. It's faster and more reliable than the ones with pandas to bounce the cavaliers. It can win against other controlly decks and even some aggro, when you draw well (Shirvallah + Uther weapon = almost Reno). I'll post the list soon, very fun to play and cheap.
For Wild, much to my own chagrin, I did Mage with Open the Waygate. I cracked and Evocation and I just had to use it. IT's worked wonders for me in Wild... even though I feel like part of my soul has chipped off.
I refuse to do that. Doesn't help that I don't have the quest or the mana giants, though.
Odd DH was working fine but stopped working at diamond 3 too. The loss of Albatross was gross.
Still seeing a LOT of Quest Mages... Don't these guys ever give up?
Crushed some with Odd DH and Even Hunter but as Reno Priest it's still unwinnable (and we can extend that to any other slow deck). Time will tell if this balance is enough to cull their population
So Frosty, are you planning to update this? There must be a good Odd DH in the meta, at least Tier 2/3. It already did great against Quest Mage, should do even better now.
I play another build, with some different 3 and 5 drops and no Altruis (Warglaives is bonkers), but the loss of Albatross was huge... Reno Priest/Mage is very tough now. Trying Hench-Clan Thugs in their spot but it's much weaker in DH than it was in Rogue for obvious reasons. A bit skeptical also with the 3 pirates. Feels terrible to draw Patches!
I'd say it's probably gonna be enough. I already have around 60% winrate against them using Odd DH or Even Hunter, so... Needing 8 spells to complete quest they don't stand a chance against aggro/tempo, while being less brutal against other archetypes.
EDIT: Against slow decks it's still equally brutal (my Reno Priest didn't stand a chance)
A little guide would be great. A problem with old freeze mage was the opponent healing or Reno-ing the turn after you Alex them. Here there's still this risk but at least you have Kael and all the cost-reducing spells to compensate that. Have you ever had to down them from 30 in a single turn? Would it be possible? A little lazy to do the math now.
The obvious comparison is with Odd Rogue and I'm still not convinced that Odd DH is better. Rogue odd bombs that work better for me are Vilespine Slayer, Dark Iron Skulker (generally more reliable AoE than Altruis), SI:7 Agent, EVIL Miscreant and the lovely sinergy between Buccaneer and hero power for removing 3-health minions. I may be biased because Odd Rogue was the deck that first got me to Legend and I have played very little with Odd DH. Metamorphosis is really strong as a finisher though. Priestess is too unreliable from what I've seen, but not bad either.
WHy my Mecha'thun deck getting hit too... you know replacing Bloodbloom by couple of Galvanizers will reduce consistency a lot
This is also what I'm most sad about... Mecha'Thun Lock is a very honest and balanced deck, AND fun to play
Darkest Hour Lock is neither, so why not change Darkest Hour??
Balanced and honest? Seriously? Draw, draw, heal, draw more, destroy with eggs and plague of flames and hope my opponent doesn't have dirty rat and if he does, that he doesn't hit mechathun? I hate that deck so much
Hating the deck is fine. I hate all decks that beat me honestly lol but Mecha'Thun Lock is pretty beatable. What you're defining is a generic control/combo hybrid, all of them work similarly and have their weaknesses

Agree with your picks except for Dirge Bat. 6 mana for a single removal is sooo expensive! Compare to Liliana that removes two creatures through sacrifice effect (Dream Trawler?) and she never sees play. I don't think I'd like to spend 6 mana for the bat's effect only for him to be removed the following turn OR you get pressured/killed by a large aggro board/Embercleave

It would only "break" its profits my friend. And when you finally manage to get a decent manabase as FTP, rotation comes.
