Not sure this enough support in standard now... we'll see. In wild, as others have said, this seems bonkers. Jade decks will be crazy with this. Also watch out for C'Thun decks. Most C'thun cards are battlecry, making it easy to fulfill the quest and then double bonuses after. Fencing Coach can be used to combo with C'thun the following turn. Also could could use Emperor Thaurissan to reduce cost of C'thun and Waterboy to pull it off, though a llittle harder. Shaman has way better control tools now than it did during Old Gods, so this could work.

^ all the EVIL classes are getting a plague card which is a full board clear. And I'd argue WL control tools aren't bad right now, it's just the payoff that is lacking, which is what this quest is trying to address.

Right? But Warlock already has an expensive clear. Another DOOM! might sound nice for the draw synergies, but Warlock really needs a new cheap clear on par with Defile, or at least close to that, since many feel that was too efficient. Maybe something akin to Demonwrath. Shriek is terrible

Creation competitions are very close. We will have a completely dedicated system for it, better than what we could achieve with forum capabilities on hpwn, so give us a little bit more time to bring that to fruition and then we can start right up! ;-)

Is it weird that I'm more excited for this reveal than for the new expansion? Really looking forward to it!

This is good, seems a little too swingy. If you're playing a quest, you're drawing 1 less card, which means lower chance of this in your starting hand. I feel like a lot of quest games will simply come down to whether you got this in your opening hand or not.

The requirements for completion are far too steep.  Draw 20 cards so that the last 10 cards can cost 0?  I don't know about that.....

It's not even that good. Draw 20 cards so half the last 10 can cost 2. You have to hero power for the reduction, not just dra

This seems strictly worse than Jungle Giants, and that card never really worked. You can't control which cards get the reduction, so this wont work with combos. Unless there's some insane support, I don't see this getting play

I like this. There's a lot of choices to be made, and the reward is not some "gotcha I win" gimmick like the prior quests. I worry that cards like this won't find a place in a meta otherwise dominated by OP combos. Seems like more of a solid mid-range kind of play, and mid-range has been dead for a while now.

Does the deck have to competitive? I made the below deck as a "challenge" a while ago and it was super difficult to pull off but really fun when you did. It was a guaranteed win if you could (1) get below 10 health without dying, (2) get your opponent down to at most 25 health and (3) have exactly one minion and no other cards left in your deck. Note this deck was standard after the MSG release, and actually became slightly easier (modified for standard) with release of Baleful Banker in WW, because you no longer needed Emperor Thaurissan and didn't have to worry about leaving a minion in your deck.

At least you still have Hellfire and Twisting Nether as effective board clears. Control Priest is probably in a worse position.

I've really really tried. There's too much swarm right now. By the time I get to turn 4, if I even managed to draw Hellfire, the self damage is a liability and the opponent can refill the board in a turn or two. Forget surviving to turn 8 for a Twisting Nether. I've tried using Shriek, which is only good if I have the Coin, because otherwise it discard one of my other clears or early taunts.  I've tried using cheap taunts to stave of early swarms, tried adding more healing... Warlock just does not have the tools to survive against even bad-draw aggro anymore.

And zoolock is definitely better than control warlock, but there's a reason it's a 1% meta deck---its slower than hunter, mage and druid, and does not have the staying power to survive warrior.

Really I think Control Warlock is just a couple cards away from being playable, but without those cards its just awful. I miss Defile so much.

To answer the OP, they are VERY strong, and that power is mitigated only by the fact that (normally) you can't chose which one you get. So in a situation where you really need that charge, you might get something else, which is what makes Animal Companion fair. I think we saw what happens when the randomness is removed: Call of the Wild had to be nerfed, To My Side! was laughed at upon release, but ended up being a really strong card.

High-roll decks should be meme decks: Playable and fun, but not consistent enough to be competitive. The problem with big Priest (at least in Wild) is that it has so many tools that the you get the high roll most of the time. That's why its so unstoppable---It's too consistent.

As far as a fix? I'd start with counters that affect the dead pool (similar to Exile in Magic). This could be a card the simply empties the deadpool, turns all minions in the deadpool to sheep, etc. Also more (playable) cards that summon garbage for the opponent. I think Bliz has tried to do this recently, but the cards are too slow and not otherwise playable except as a hard counter to res decks.

Another thing. The deck pages and specially the card listings... really? That looks dreadful, specially when we compare to we know who

Really? I always thought the Hearthpwn deck listings and pages were too busy/cluttered. These (to me at least) are much cleaner and easier to read

This might be the worst brawl ever. I got some weird and awful Warlock deck with a couple mechs. I think it was supposed to be a setup for Fel Lord Betrug and portal combo on turn 10, but I went up against a basically net-deck mech paladin, with tons of magnetic combos that destroyed me before I could hardly play anything.

I was planning on migrating here eventually, but the shenanigans with sale just gave me an uneasy feeling about Heathpwn and its future. I think I'm here for good now.
