Hearthstone's Alec Dawson has provided the community with a schedule of what we can can expect for card balance over the next month.
We're going to be guaranteed two changes next week to Warlocks, exact changes are not yet announced though will include mana increases, which should help out with community sentiment when there was quite a bit of outrage about Warlocks not getting hit in the last balance patch. This patch will release on Tuesday, August 31.
After that patch, the balance team will be looking to evaluate the meta over the next week and a half and if any changes are needed, we'll see them arrive later in September alongside planned Battlegrounds balance changes which will be coming AFTER the big update. With that in mind, it looks like we'll be seeing that big Battlegrounds shakeup within the next few weeks. If I were to take a gamble, I'd say we can expect to hear information next week alongside the Mercenaries Deep Dive stream. It was announced that said stream "might include a surprise or two" so using this as an opportunity to pump up the Battlegrounds update makes plenty of sense. The only question that remains is will they also be dropping that in next week's patch - it would make one hell of a follow-up to the stream.
Here's Alec's tweet announcing the schedule.
Quote From Alec Dawson Balance schedule over next month -
8/31: 2 Warlock changes (upping mana, feels focused)
8/31 to 9/10: Evaluating meta
9/10: Decide if changes are needed
Later Sept: Decided changes go live (BGs included)
Are those BG changes a balance pass on the big update or is that the big update / re-work?
Balance after the big update. More info on that update quite soon!

I would like to add to that, that generally control decks get forced out of the meta because they lose against the other control decks.
And people like this who spread this “do nothing” lie should never be listened to. Almost no control in recent history was do nothing and force you to run out of cards except infinite warrior or linebreaker Druid. Hell control priest before stormwind was actively dropping minions like a mid range
Except literally Priest last expansion (and Warrior would have done the same if it wasn't strictly worse at it than Priest).
If your definition of midrange is literally just "plays minions every once in a while" then yeah, I guess it did something, but by that same logic Hunter is a control class because they sometimes play spells to remove minions.
Control decks need an actual wincondtion and a way to put on pressure, not just spamming removal until their opponent loses the will to live.
Really hope they leave the Control version of Quest intact, that one seems balanced (outside of Flesh giant shenanigans)
It's sooo nice to know this much in advance for once.
I understand it is not possible usually - to give us such exact release schedule.
I am sick of Warlocks, and they rule in Standard and in Wild... and I don't play BG :) almost feels like you can't escape from them :P
Now at least we know, that there is hope for the situation to change and we can await changes and more :)
Until they remove fatigue from counting from the quest you’ll still be seeing it.
The fatigue rarely ever impacts games. Healing is what makes it so strong.
In a deck where mana costs don’t really matter, does this do enough?
Is Mana adjustment really enough? It sometimes look like the Warlocks have infinite mana and card draw (while killing you board).
A mana adjutment can make it much harder to play the profession weapon (I forgot the name) and play Free Admission. Making free admission and Stealer of Souls cost more will definitely hurt the deck's WR but not do much against slower decks.
