Getting to Know Hearthstone's Hottest Celebrity Couples of 2022

Hearthstone and the Warcraft universe is home to plenty of creatures and with that comes relationships. Our reporters have been sneakily looking around Azeroth to bring you Hearthstone's Hottest Couples!

This is a "just for fun" type article and is meant to give folks a look at some of Warcraft's lore., Not all of the couples featured in this article are together anymore and their actions may have happened at different points in Warcraft history. Use this as a starting place in your own Warcraft lore adventures! 

Vereesa Windrunner & Rhonin

After becoming a Ranger, Vereesa Windrunner, yes, that Windrunner family with Sylvanas Windrunner and Alleria Windrunner, met the lovely Rhonin, leader of the Kiron Tor. The two were last spotted in Dalaran, enjoying the night sky.

Here's what you need to know about Vereesa and Rhonin:

• The two met while on an escort mission to free Alexstrasza from the grasp of the Dragonmaw clan.
• When Rhonin became the leader of the Kirin Tor of Dalaran, Vereesa created the Silver Covenant, a group of militant High Elves who rejected Blood Elves joining the Kirin Tor.
• Rhonin died during a siege of Theramore after sacrificing himself to localize the explosion of a mana bomb. His death promoted Jaina Proudmoore to leader of the Kirin Tor.
• Vereesa initially made it her goal after to go after Garrosh Hellscream, alongside Sylvanas, but she didn't want to leave her children without both of their parents.

Although Rhonin may not be around anymore, Vereesa shows that everyone can get through rough times.

Tyrande Whisperwind & Malfurion Stormrage

Those Night Elves are a dangerous bunch and they love to get themselves into complicated situations. Fighting battles together and saving their people, that puts Tyrande and Malfurion up on our list - plus, who wouldn't love to rub their hand across Malfurion's chest? 

Here's what you need to know about Tyrande and Malfurion:

• The two, alongside Illidan, Malfurion's twin brother, grew up together in the beautiful Kaldorei city of Suramar.
• There was a love triangle between the group, though Tyrande never saw Illidan in that light.
• After Tyrande began rebuilding the Night Elves, Malfurion departed his love to rejoin the Emerald Dream.
• Malfurion's departure from Tyrande during his slumber made her more fierce and more willing to sacrifice anything to save her people.
• Together, Tyrande and Malfurion lead the Night Elves.

Jaina Proudmoore & Arthas Menethil

We can't talk about the hottest couples without putting spotlight on a one of Azeroth's most popular relationships. Although they two unfortunately didn't work things out, Jaina may still hold some love for Arthas - if only that whole Lich King thing didn't happen. Our reporters last saw Jaina disappointingly walking away from her ex-boyfriend.

Aren't they just so cute together?

Here's what you need to know about Jaina and Arthas:

• Kael'thas Sunstrider originally had his eyes on Jaina and she refused his advances because she wanted her studies to advance because of her own merit.
• Jaina and her father attended Arthas' induction into the Knights of the Silver Hand in Stormwind City.
• Arthas ran after Jaina, visiting Dalaran for months pretending to be there to be studying history but really, he wanted to court Jaina.
• The couple had their first kiss outside of Dalaran, though they kept their relationship a secret - not very well.
• Arthas and Jaina were expected to have children, but then Arthas abruptly ended their relationship so that the two of them could focus on themselves.
• During the Culling of Stratholme, Jaina left Arthas as she couldn't watch him massacre the city. Arthas felt betrayed by her actions.
• Arthas later asking Jaina to join him on an expedition to Northrend to chase after Mal'Ganis. She said it sounded like a trap and refused to follow.
• The two would later meet with Arthas as his final form in The Lich King. Jaina sadly discovered that there was nothing left of Arthas and barely escaped death.

More Hearthstone Love

These are certainly not the only couples that have existed in the Warcraft universe and made their way to Hearthstone.

• Emperor Thaurissan & Moira Bronzebeard
  • The Emperor of Blackrock ambushed and captured the Princess of Ironforge. Eventually, they fell in love and after the Emperor's death, she took over his reign.
• Deathwing & Sinestra
  • Nefarian and Onyxia were born to this couple.
  • Deathwing had many consorts, and Sinestra was the only one to survive his madness, though she was scarred for live.
• Sylvanas Windrunner and Nathanos Blightcaller
  • Their exact details of the relationship aren't fully understood, but there has been the implication that the two had a romantic relationship while alive.
