Discussion

Druid and Demon Hunter made it to top 3 picks in all three regions on the back of the popularity of Kazakusan Druid and Fel Demon Hunter, respectively. Rogue was also quite popular especially in APAC, where players preferred it more than Demon Hunters. All regions also had all 10 classes in play this weekend, and even the least popular ones (Hunter and Paladin) saw a total of 6 picks each. Diversity!

Result-based Discussion

In APAC the top two of the week saw a change of fortunes compared to last season, as the runner-up okasinnsuke fell out of the playoffs during the final week and this week's winner lambyseries just about managed to stay in Grandmasters altogether. Now both took a big step towards playoffs due to the short length of the season with 4 and 5 point tallies, respectively.

In Europe, two newcomers started with strong performances as Furyhunter reached the top 4, whereas SuperFake managed to go one step further and got to the final with a perfect 4-0 record before being defeated by xBlyzes. In Americas the fortune of the promoted players was not as good, as three of them (including re-promoted CaelesLuna) were left last in their respective groups. Only GamerRvg was able to reach top 8 before losing to Fr0zen who, in turn, went on to win this week's tournament after a hard-fought final against Fled.

The winners of Week 1.

Lastly, let's take an early glimpse at the points standings of this season.
