Silas' OTK Dragon Quest Warlock

There are a ton of Silas Darkmoon combo decks floating around, and we experimented with quite a few! This was probably the most consistent for pulling off the combo of all the decks but Warrior, but this one is so much more fun than Warrior...

To pull off the combo more consistently, use the quest reward to discount Silas Darkmoon with help from Lorekeeper Polkelt. Plot Twist will give you another chance at discounting Silas if you've already drawn him. To deal 32 damage, you're going to want 3 Mo'arg Artificers, which Felosophy will help you generate. Since there are 2 Felosophy, you can use 1 of the Mo'args with a Nether Breath for emergency healing to buy time till you get all the combo pieces. Any of the Soul Fragment cards will help reshuffle your deck after using Lorekeeper to set up Silas' discount if you're still looking for the last of the combo pieces.

For 32 damage, just drop Soulbound Ashtongue, rotate him with Silas, drop the 3 Mo'arg Artificers, and Soulfire the Soulbound Ashtongue. If it's a Warrior with up to 34 armor, you can deal 64 damage with all 4 Mo'arg Artificers if you can get them all together.

Even though there's a lot of healing and decent early game control tools, we did struggle against aggro decks. However, this proved to be one of the most consistent decks to pull off a Silas/Soulbound combo, so I'd recommend it if you're looking for a fun twist! We've got a highlight video showing gameplay of pulling off the combo twice at https://youtu.be/wpX2pIFNkzg if you'd like to see it in action. Have fun experimenting and have an awesome day!

I like the deck, except for one detail: the Felosophy setup. Felosophy is simply a bad card, which is completely useless besides the combo. This got me thinking of a different combo which fits into the same shell. With double Mo'arg Artificer, the minimum damage we need to do is 8 to deal 32 damage with the Silas Darkmoon-Soulbound Ashtongue combo. This led me to think of two cards, which are both playable in warlock by themselves and very strong together even without the combo: Flesh Giant and Shadowflame. This requires the same amount of set-up cards, but replaces the weaker Felosophy and Soulfire cards with replacements that are stronger by themselves. Have you thought about this replacement? What do you think of it?

That's a good suggestion! It's true that Felosophy is pretty weak, though you can use it to copy an Aranasi Broodmother before Plot Twist for a little bit more potential healing (you only need to copy one of the Mo'arg Artificers for the combo, so you can use the other one more flexibly), but admittedly, it is one of the weaker cards in the deck.

As for your recommended alternative, Flesh Giant should be easy enough to discount, and Shadowflame will do the damage necessary, while they provide alternative pressure and board clear options. I like it! One important note is that Shadowflame is 4 mana, so if you do miss the discount on Silas Darkmoon, you need the discount on Shadowflame to have a chance of pulling the combo. In the current version, if we discount a Mo'arg Artificer with the hero power, Felosophy will copy the discounted minion, and we can still pull off at least a 16 damage combo (7-mana Silas, 1-mana Soulbound Ashtongue, 1-mana Soulfire, and the discounted Mo'args). So, with your changes, pulling off a burst damage combo will be a little less consistent, but the overall winrate would likely go up. So, depending on your priority, that's a nice alternative!
