Ctthun is better than the mission in the first few matches and in some situations,
look for passives that reduce the cost of spells because you have minions to complete the mission,
but if they don't come accept the passives that come even if it hinders the mission ,
you can give up on completing it in some cases,
the mission exists as a more guaranteed win condition, but if passives lead to other types of games, accept it.
And always look for control charts and time
