Greetings fellow traveller and welcome to KeyCos Fun-Decks

The idea behind this deck:

So first off, this deck is an obvious hommage to good old malylock.

However instead of using Malygos to win, we instead focus on survival and disruption.

Draw Engine:

Utilising Shadow, Fire and Fel as our spellschools makes Multicaster the obvious fit.

Dreadlich Tamsin actually needs no explanation but: AoE, Draw and great synergy with Runed Mithril Rod

Rustrot Viper not only serves well as a disruption tool against certain annoying weapons, it also helps us to push our Rod a little bit more and sometimes that alone is enough.

Choice of Dragons:

Crazed Netherwing, and Amalgam of the Deep are both great cards in a vacuum and we really need activators for Nether Breath. Faerie Dragon has a cheap opportunity cost; sometimes it does nothing, sometimes it triggers an objection, sometimes it helps you find a useful dragon in combination with Amalgam of the Deep. At some point I was playing Nightmare Amalgam instead but I`ll come back to that once we talk about replacement options.

Choice of Spells:

Fire: Immolate helps a lot if you try to disrupt slow combo decks while Arson Accusation is awesome at dealing with big early game threats.

Fel: Nether Breath is a great tool to clear early to mid sized threats and restore life. In the late game it even has its uses if you pair it with your good old pal Mo'arg Artificer. Dark Skies is just a convenient removal tool for a warlock who loves having his hands full.

Shadow: All of those cards offer either removal or heal and have synergy with Tamsin Roame or Mo'arg Artificer

Choice of Disruption Tools:

Curse of Agony one of our win conditions that also disables highlander decks and makes people regret the decison to build a strategy around The Jailer

Gnomeferatu is a functioning two-drop that has the upside to sometimes mill something great. Unlike Tickatus it requires no set-up and you can easily toss those gnomes into secrets because they aren`t a real mana investment

Immolate allows you to mess up convoluted strategies and also forces to overcommit into your boardclears

Win Conditions:

1.) Out-Control the enemy by making the best use of your disruption tools

2.) Combine Curse of Agony with Lady Darkvein or Tamsin Roame

3.) Fight them off until you play Kazakusan and win with treasures.

Alternatives to Kazakusan:

Alexstrasza allows you to go for a more straight-forward wincon if you have the board, especially with Nether Breath, however in that case you probably want to play Malygos and some other spells that can go face. In my opinion this pick is even clunkier than Kazakusan. On the upside it is still a dragon and enables some of your other cards.

Commander Ulthok might actually look like a win more card but in combination with your curses it often works like a better Loatheb once the enemy is already low. I tried it for a few games and especially against druids/priests it seems to do a great job. Against rogues/hunters...well it isn`t something you would ever consider.

Platebreaker isn`t something I would really recommend. It only has uses against enemies that stack armor like crazy. Usually you can build up enough fatigue damage with your curses.

Theotar, the Mad Duke is an option for those who still think we aren`t running enough disruption. I actually found him more of a detriment than a boon for this deck. Usually the enemy runs one anyways and whatever they steal...you`ll get by. However, once you encounter one of those many durids that love to play the whole combo of  Brann Bronzebeard + their Theo + your Theo you will understand why I just stopped running him. Sure it isn`t happening all the time but it is one way this deck actually loses hard.

Zilliax okay...so this one needs a little build around. Remember the Faerie Dragon we mentioned before ? yeah...replace it with Nightmare Amalgam. This little guy actually helps you a little in the harder aggro matchups. Unfortunately drawing him instead of an enabler for your dragon synergy cards makes you sad some times.

Brann Bronzebeard isn`t really that helpful. yeah we play some good battlecries but after some testing he feels more like a win more card than anything. Furthermore if the enemy somehow steals him...they`ll utilize him way better than you.

Archmage Vargoth is a worse version of Queen Azshara... you don`t need him, trust me.

Brightwing actually works quite well. Sometimes it gives you trash but...sometimes it gives you weird stuff that is fun like Frizz Kindleroost , Wilfred Fizzlebang, Headmaster Kel'Thuzad, Magtheridon  or...

Sir Finley, Sea Guide my prefered replacement.
