Snip Lock #1 EU

Hey guys, d3spam here. This is the list I used to reach #1 Legend on EU on 28th of September.

All differences to the more conventional list follow the same mantra: cheaper is better.
Playing two 1-mana cycling cards digs twice as deep as one 2-mana card.

You want to use Lifetap a lot. As a result you need a way to dump cards from your hand.
Having cheap minions boosts Plague and Defile even more.
Therefor these are my thoughts:

Mistress is better than Healbot (if you want even more heal, add in dark pact)

Runic Egg is better than Loothoarder (this is probably the best upgrade to the standard list I can offer)

Target Dummy is better than Gatekeeper (*)

Mechathun is sometimes relevant. You could also run loatheb (maybe even brann) in this slot, but thun only needs one card so it distracts us less from our plan A. With that in mind it's still kinda bad with glinda and soularium and maybe should not be in here.

Lastly all of the above is basically about replacing the worst few cards in the deck with slightly better cards. I don't think it significantly improves the deck, but every bit matters. Always understand how good your plan A is and how threatening a stupid mech on an empty board can be for your opponent. forcing them into clearing every single turn is what generates enough tempo to win slow matchups.

(*) I see lists run up to two copies of Gatekeeper and really don't get why you'd what that. Every mech you play already has pseudo-taunt. the magnetize comes up rarely. Any card that costs more than (1) in this deck needs to do a lot of heavy-lifting to justify it's spot and gatekeeper is not up to the job.

he does pretty much the same as target dummy on a portal combo turn but adds devolve protection.
dummy is good on 6 with glinda, can be dumped when handspace is needed, is better with plague and defile (both for enabling them and for playing him after a clear on an empty board).

Gatekeeper can be combined with glinda, but understand that this is already plan B, and it matters much less. Getting plan A down a turn faster helps more than making the backup combo happen more often.
