New Warlock Spell - Deck of Chaos

Ou yeah, 3 mana Lord Jaraxxus incoming.

It fits with tons of minions.

Void Drinker,  Enhanced Dreadlord, Batterhead, Zzeraku the Warped , Ysera...

And any egg will be OP, 0 mana 5/3 Chromatic Egg...

If warlock can survive playing a card that "do nothing" at turn 6, that card will be OP.

Its basically Luna's Pocket Galaxy in warlock and back in standard. Unlike that card though, this one don't just straight up win you the game, and you've have to have a really mean way to getting back tempo, since warlock can't stall with freezes and the cards are cheap, but not broken cheap.

Definitely a built around card for any midrange warlock and above, but with warlock still having trouble getting cheap taunts out on the cheap in standard, I wouldn't hold my breath that this one becomes tier 1 anytime soon, especially since we're definitely sure dhunters would likely be on top.

During the reveal, I thought it was an easy 400 dust... But there are a lot of card that can be nuts with it... If you can get lucky enough to draw it reasonably fast, and have the luxury of playing without dying, then it could be good

Luna's Pocket Galaxy 2: Electric Boogaloo. 

I mean, Warlock definitely has a lot of tools to find this card in their deck via Plot Twist and Hero Power, but there needs to be a strong enough pay-off to doing so. In standard, I doubt there are enough big cards to justify how inconsistent this would be. And in wild, there are already so many mana cheating effects that dwarf this card. Seems like a "crushes control but dies to aggro. Horribly." kind of card.

I think that in most cases this is a significantly worse Luna's Pocket Galaxy, but maybe warlock's better access to draw makes the effect more useful there? I've never really felt that cubelock/renolock needed their minions discounted, they tend to have voidcaller to get their demons into play and even Skull of the Man'ari is only run in some decks.

Interesting buildaround... need to find which high cost low attack minions are there in warlock. The only problem I see is that if you bottomdeck this, then your deck might fall apart...

I can see this MAYBE working in a deck that's heavy on spells and draw, but realistically I'm not sure that kind of Warlock deck can survive long enough to see the payoff.

Ah, another legendary spell mixed in with the minions. I love that we're at this point where one or two classes can get something cool like this without it having to be applied to ALL classes every time. 

The card seems really good however idk how much it will be played i guess it just depends on the top tier warlock decks once this expansion drops

I really don't know what to think of this card. It seems really slow, but at the same time Mages were able to play Luna's Pocket Galaxy which was 5 mana do nothing, so I don't see why control warlocks won't be able to get away with a 6 mana do nothing. As UVE mentioned above, there are plenty of minions that would get a solid mana discount with this spell. In your average wild cubelock deck, just about every single creature would get a buff from this spell, I think this card will at least see play there if nowhere else.

WHAT, I love it but it is so weird. I like that for some reason there is a lot of currently good cards even in standard for this.

Initially, I was hesitant to like this card.  The more that I think about the abusive things that this can do I am looking forward to seeing how it can be totally utilized.  Even things like Mountain Giant become infinitely more scary at the idea of a 20/8 minion coming out as soon as you have a larger hand

As far as Malygos goes (or Maly-goes, if you're into terrible puns), Quest Warlock simply does it better. Not only does it make Malygos cost 0 instead of 4, it can also put Malygos back into the deck in the offchance that you draw it. 

Now, as far as Lord Jaraxxus, Deck of Chaos does not represent a 6 mana discount, but rather it represents paying 6 mana up front. Which is good for tempo-ing out Lord Jaraxxus, but it comes at a huge loss of tempo beforehand. 

So, here's what I think Deck of Chaos might have a home: a value-oriented Plot Twist hand-lock without the quest. That allows for the loss of tempo for playing Deck of Chaos to eventually be compensated by playing a lot of big boys in a row. Not only that, Plot Twist serves the very important role of redrawing your cards in case you draw your clunky minions and not Deck of Chaos. Unfortunately, the current fast pace of the meta makes me doubt the viablility of the deck.

I'll give this card 4 stars because I really like the design and the deck building challenge this card can provide.

PPS: In wild, you can summon a 20 Attack Molten Giant for free if you're at 22 health, which isn't really scary (it's past turn 6), but it is a cute gimmick.

This supports the stupid shenanigans that I still play Hearthstone for, so I'm all about this card.  A shame it doesn't work super well with my main archetype, Arch-Villain Rafaam and Supreme Archaeology, but there is plenty of fun to be hand and this will make a suitable replacement once they rotate next year.

Maybe it can exist into a meme deck with a lot 0 attack minions that can be played for free later?

I don't know it, maybe Mark Mckz will make some strange combo with this card

This gives me nightmares from when Luna's Pocket Galaxy was in standard with how major the discounts can be. I think that Pocket Galaxy has taught us that if you run a big discount card like this, that all the minions you include need to be good standalone to the point where you feel okay playing them from hand if they don't get the discount and buff. This means I don't think Deck of Chaos will work well in a combo strategy, I'd argue that Supreme Archaeology lends itself better to that strategy. Still, if Hearthstone has taught me anything, it's that discounting cards is something that mostly ends up being powerful and can't be overlooked. We'll just have to see how this deck can be built once all of the cards get revealed.

This is a VERY interesting card. Seems really strong for big warlock decks, and even in wild!

Standard: their is a lot of synergy in standard, just a few i can name are: Lord Jaraxxus, Zzeraku the Warped and Archwitch Willow. Actually i'm pretty sure the [Hearthstone Card (Archwith Willow) Not Found] "stat nerf" was actually a buff, so that she works better with Deck of Chaos. 

Standard: I'm pretty sure Deck of Chaos will be in some kind of BIG Warlock deck, which will be some kind of control deck that probably includes Supreme Archaeology. Let's hope Lord Jaraxxus is finally going to be viable again.

Wild: I'm guessing this is yet again, going to be in some kind of big warlock deck. And probably in Cubelock, because of Voidlords. Let's face it, who doesn't "like" 3 mana 9/9 Voidlords. And their easy to draw those with Sense Demons. I forsee Deck of Chaos see a lot of play.

I don't often play warlock, but this card is amazing. There are so many cards for warlock that this would improve.

That's what i thought too but the more i think about it, the stronger this one looks.

Usefully useless! It can be absolutely crazy or you could get a dead card in your hand wishing it wasn't at the bottom of your deck

High variance high reward, it kind of reminds me of the casino hunter, where you played all spells except for barnes and y'saarj back in the day. You win if you draw it, but there's no way to tutor it in warlock or cheat it out like mage can. I think it'll see a lot of experimentation in this and future sets, but won't be very high in win rate.

I don't care if it never sees play I'm gonna run it anyways.  Its just wack design that I love.

Could be too slow to play it on turn 6 but in decks with high drawing cards ability can be insane.

If you build your deck right, this can have a seriously positive effect. I see some sort of control warlock with this card in it in the future.

Not as good as LPG, but still very strong. Looking at reno lock there is very little I'm not giddy about seeing this applied to.

An alternative to Supreme Archaeology for discounting Maly for combos.

I would have to see a list of the high mana low attack minions to evaluate if this is worth it. I know there are a few 4/12 dragons that might fit the bill. In wild there are voidlords that would be scary with this. It could be good if enough minions are available for it.

Yeah, someone is working on a Malygos deck with this but what happens if you draw Malygos first? Then you're running this as part of a busted win condition (and it takes a full six mana to play without any immediate benefit). Even in a slow meta this has way too many question marks attached.

I love this card, but I do hope it stays a meme. Luna's Pocket Galaxy was miserable when it was good, so hopefully this manages to straddle the line of fun, but not insane. Others have already mentioned a bunch of great combos - can't wait to try some.
