Wild Hearthstone has thousands of cards, and a wide variety of possible decks. This incredible deck diversity is sometimes lost when only looking at the few decks common in the highest ranks. Wildest of Days is a series aiming to highlight a different off meta deck each week with an in depth guide into its strategy and gameplay. The decks are selected for having interesting synergies and using rarely seen cards.

The whole point of this deck is to get Neeru Fireblade active as soon as possible. As you can see above, this is possible as early as turn 5. You do this with The Dark Portals and Hemet, Jungle Hunter to destroy your deck early. The deck only has 3 minions for consistency, and a lot of removals and healing spells for survival. After you've played Neeru you have Kazakusan to refill your deck with powerful Treasures.

Now, let's get into a guide on playing the deck. It's going to go through major overarching strategies to keep in mind, how to mulligan, gameplay tips on key synergies, and card choices.

Strategies

Very simple. First you draw while surviving. Then you play Hemet, Jungle Hunter. Then you play Neeru Fireblade. Then you play Kazakusan and use the combined power of the Neeru board of imps and Kazakusan Treasures to win.

Pre-Neeru - Use your removal spells to survive, and then draw your key minions. Then use Hemet, Jungle Hunter to destroy your deck.

Post-Neeru - Play Neeru Fireblade to open the portal and then Kazakusan to fill your deck with Treasures.

This deck's strategy is very consistent in terms of using Hemet into Neeru for imps, and Kazakusan lends the deck a replayability factor since you will get different Treasures to combo with the Neeru boards each time.

Mulligans

  • Keep The Dark Portals. If you only have one or none, keep a Free Admission as well. Otherwise, mulligan everything else away to get more Dark Portals. They are the key to the turbo part of the deck.

Gameplay

The key to playing this deck well is to use your removals at key moments while fitting in card draw in turns where you are facing less board pressure.

Below are gameplay tips regarding many of the synergies in this deck and how to use them effectively.

How do you do the ultimate turbo Neeru? You have to draw Neeru Fireblade and Hemet, Jungle Hunter with The Dark Portals and then play them on turn 5 with the coin.

Even if you don't get this to go off, playing Neeru on turn 6 or 7 is still pretty powerful given that you have plenty of removals and healing to stall.

Sometimes you hit Kazakusan and Hemet with The Dark Portals. In this case, you can play Hemet early and then play Kazakusan early as well, for example on turn 5. You can also play him even before Hemet if you’ve drawn all 3 minions in your deck. This will mean that Neeru won't activate, but that's ok because having Kazakusan Treasures so early can win you the game by itself.

Free Admission does not provide a discount but is for consistency of drawing minions, especially Hemet. If you have no minions in hand and no Dark Portals but have one Free Admission, don't play it until you've drawn another Free Admission, a Dark Portal, or another minion first. This is because you have 3x the chance to draw a minion before playing it which means you can then play it to draw the other 2 minions.

Nether Breath is a special removal to note - since you will be able to tutor out all 3 minions so consistently, it will be able to have its bonus effect activated off of having Kazakusan in hand.

You should play your Soul Fragment generating removals after your deck is empty or almost empty after Hemet if you have other removals you can play earlier, as that will guarantee you draw the healing faster. These are Soul Shear and School Spirits.

Card Choices

This section is going to go through the main packages of cards in the deck. Each package has cards that help the deck with a specific goal. When playing the deck, it's useful to know what purposes each card serves and what other cards in the deck have synergy with it or help achieve the same purpose. This section might also be useful if you're interested in the reasoning for why each card was included in the deck.

These cards are in to tutor out your minions as fast as possible. Hemet, Jungle Hunter is used to destroy your entire deck, which apart from the other 2 minions and The Dark Portals all costs 3 or less. This allows you to play Neeru early.
