Is anyone else just bored with HS? Nothing seems fun to me.. i've done all the things (except stupid OTK combo decks), i've had awesome skipper armor smith combos. I've played and hated playing demon hunter as well as against. I have built spell druids, and mages and countless galakrond and singleton decks. What else is there. Battlegrounds? oh, you mean the every game is the same formula mode.. nah, pass. Murlocs, check. Totem's? yep, face hunter, pass. Anyone have any spicy things to liven things up in a stale meta?
Try building your own deck based around a particular card(s) that you enjoy. Such a shame that there isn’t some sort of mode where there could be restrictions on cards/classes/mechanics to allow people to create more elaborate decks that aren’t built around grinding someone down in 7-8 turns in the least interactive way. There needs to be greater rewards and achievements for using particular cards and mechanics, ultimately spicing up the variation of decks that people will face.Meme the dream and make Hearthstone fun again.
Sorry for late reply, I'm grateful for your detailed answer!
Yeah, the same problems I stumbled upon with Dragon Hunter. Interesting idea with Rush package, too bad it hasn't worked out for you in the end. I'm now considering crafting Teron, seems like a good deal, and I like that new face deck :)
Surprising news: got Zixor from a pack today! I will test some ideas after all, will update if I get any good results. :)
I'm thinking about crafting Zixor, Apex Predator for a variation of Dragon Hunter with Scavenger Ingenuity (tutor for Phase Stalkers too). Has anyone tried it, does it feel like a strong improvement on the original deck?
I think the idea is that you "lose" Akama Prime if the regular Akama gets Bamboozled. You're correct that you can't lose the Prime itself to the secret unless some mass Silence happens before that. And at that point you wouldn't mind losing a bare 6/5 minion.
But then again, Akama has stealth itself, so you could time it to die and prevent Bamboozle. Plus you could delay playing a secret early if you want to trade with Akama more efficiently. I think you could run Akama in a secret deck with no problems.
On EU, a friend told me he had all empty slots and got two additional new quests (gold+dust) this morning. I got a normal quest at 00:00 today, making it 3 total, passed one so I have one slot free, and haven't got anything new today. Then I rolled one of them into an upgraded one, completed it and no new quests appeared. I don't know if it was bugged for him or me, but it's strange.
I was really excited when they announced card buffs, something we thought will never happen.
I hope similar will happen in this year too, but I doubt it. Anyways, it is more fun for me to witness fast meta evolutions that come with frequent nerfs, so that's something to look forward too, if they keep to it.
I agree, but Galvadon for example has similar battlecry with adapt mechanic. I still think they should remove the battlecry part, with it's cost 6 as it is now, it would be perfect.
I actually use both Deckhand and Frothing, with Ancharr. Frothing is amazing, really a must remove target, synergy with Awakening invoke. Ancharr is core for me because it thins the deck for Galakrond and invokers, enables 2 1 chargers and I also put two 1 mana 1/2 pirates for early bodies mainly. Haven't lost yet, rank 3 now. I also agree that Bloodsworn Mercenary package (with inner rage) is irreplacable, it's too much potential burst to pass up.
Thought about making my own decklist, but I don't have time and it probably exists somewhere, the deck builds itself.
I really resonate with some of your points, nicely packed tips that could really help some people with experimenting. Deckbuilding is one of the main sources of fun to me, and still a lot of people quickly get discouraged to play with their collection, when nothing seems to work.
You have to develop a feeling of when a deck is 'clunky' and to make neccessary sacrifices to make it better. Those tips should provide a good starting guide, nice work.
If you are floating in gold and really lacking in dust, then yes, it's worth it, but it's not that much of a gain on average. It's much better if you play wild or to widen your collection. From my experience, it's not too common to hit legendary in the first 5, and the worst case is 1:1 ratio, as Avalon calculated for you.
If you don't have too much gold, I would say they are better spent on new expansion packs.
Side question, does anybody know if that old 10 pack legendary reset for old sets (where 10-timer still worked even if you already opened packs from expansion) works today, has someone tried it?
Here's one more, a bit mixed opinion. I do not put that much value on this portrait, but I feel OP is getting too much hate.
I support Blizz decision on bringing her back, it really will mean a lot to a fair amount of people (it even got my brother interested in the game again). The more excitement and more player interest - the better for everyone. And more Tyrandes instead of BMduins sounds good to me.
But! That skin really was a sign that you played at that time and met necessary conditions to obtain it. For people that could legally obtain her, it's basically the same as any card back that we can't obtain anymore. Speaking of which, I bet most of us gave that one they really want but will never get just because they weren't there then. But we do not complain, nor we should. That feeling of being there, doing that is of value to some people and it should be respected imo. I am also one of those that likes rare and shiny, be it the old exclusive portrait, card back or golden legendary.
I think that no one would complain if players that already had the skin got something in compensation. Even a pack would mean something: they are not forgotten and the company cares about every player. I really liked the idea of bringing different color Tyrande specifically. Maybe Blizzard didn't think of this enough, if Riot could do this for their players, it certainly isn't a terrible idea.
This, plus doing it in Wild is what I do too.
Such a cool card, DestroyerR. :)
Broken card as predicted, they should at least make it cost (2). Still really strong as that, but acceptable, since it comes with a condition.

Great idea, I just doubt they would like a newer keyword in Classic set.
Haha, haven't seen that one yet. Even 10 would be too much for me..
This shit's crazy in Arena. I'm happily fireballing it on 4.

They can be discovered and randomly generated. I don't really like it either, would be better they couldn't.
:( Good luck in getting quick help, sucks but you'll surely get them in the end.
Check in collection if you haven't
Restarted the game a few times?
Thank you for this unselfish writeup. :)

Thank you for this, will be useful at the beginning as we learn what to be wary of against each class.
