Regarding the Simulator, I'm not exactly sure how packs get their scores, but I think golden cards are overestimated in value, especially epics. For example, I'm almost certain that double legendary is worth less points than a single golden epic.

I just feel that tweaking those numbers might make opening a few packs from time to time more fun than it is now, where without golden a pack is considered trash. Especially since it distracts me from buying real packs when i should save 😋

Thank you all, it makes better sense now. :)

Thanks. It's would then be interesting to see what would happen with them after the rotation. The only solution I see in that case is those cards would be free for everyone to use in Wild, as removing them would be strange.

Putting them in Classic packs like those replacement for HoF cards still seems more logical to me, especially since they will return HoF-ed ones to packs too, so the set already expanded.

Anyways, yeah, it was just a couple of packs, didn't even get the legendary in them.

Sorry if the question is dumb. There are a few Core cards with Classic watermark. Does that mean they'llbe obtainable from Classic packs?

It looks to me I made a mistake opening those long time hoarded packs..

You also inspired me to craft Murgurgle and try to build my own Murloc-Dragon deck, with Skyfin and Scalelord. A bit heavier Murloc focus. Some good results and much fun, thanks!

Rhymes never caught my attention, but this was my type of riddle, it was fun staying until the end to see the answer. Also, clever hints, keeping it tense. Well thought out, DestroyerR :)

As you said yourself, it would indeed to be pointless to design UI in that case, so I think it is more logical to be optimistic and believe that we'll get a better price if we already have normal card.

Also, I don't think they would add a lot of new, "confusing" numbers to their system, like -395, -780 etc.

Merging doubles into golden would make them never nerf anything, since we would get enourmous profits from merging those 9+ duplicates.

This really should be a thing! I always wished to upgrade some of my favourite legendaries in wild with my pile of unused dust. But it would feel so bad to waste 1200 dust in the process, so I never did it. I think that upgrade cost should just be the dust difference between golden and normal card.

Btw, this system exists in Gwent, they even have a separate currency just for upgrading to golden cards. One of my favorite concepts.

Hm, strange. I admit I haven't played in a while, but I remember temp attack stayed after attacking in any class. That's also what's logical to me based on card text.

Anyways, those two cards didn't work the same way, which doesn't make sense.

Hi all. I noticed a strange thing in Duels yesterday. Playing Demon Hunter, I played Second Slice + Soulshard Lapidary, my hero's attack went to 7. Then, I planned to attack first to check Hunter secret, and summon Bladed Lady for 1 mana after. However, my attack dropped to 5 after attacking, and I couldn't summon her. Why did Slice's attack vanish, bug? Both cards have the same 'gain attack this turn' text.

Say goodbye to 7+ wins if they ever implement this. Arena should be about adapting and keeeping general skill sharp, both in deckbuilding and playing, which in turn rewards you. Adding mmr to it would kill the rewarding part, as your results will mainly come from draft luck.

The main issue I'm having with Arena lately is how heavily rng and card generation warped it, which brings so much frustration. I remember times when I could get a rogue deck with trash draft to high wins just with good gameplan and plays, since power level was so much lower, resources/power plays limited. Those runs and games were my most fun memories, and today I almost don't play at all.

Hoarding packs for the mini-expansion was always kind of dumb, though. The no-duplicates rule was always going to allow you to get the new stuff with minimal gold expenditure anyway.

Still need Darkmoon cards? Open your packs and fill out your collection.

Don't need Darkmoon cards? It doesn't matter that you've saved them; they are dust either way.

I have around 20 packs from ladder rewards and choose a champion, I saved them so I can get the rares from miniset and potentially save gold for next expansion. How is that dumb if we didn't know that we can buy all cards later?

Reinstalled the game still not fully into this but I think I will give it another shot, if you want I am active in OOC discord server :)

Cool! I must admit, I'm not too familiar with discord, but I have the account. Do you have  a link for OoC server so I can join? Will gladly do so. :)

Same here. But not so often, only playing on weekend.

All I can say, it's hard to settle to a different card game especially if it has different purpose than Hearthstone, since you need to balance your gameplay between 2 or 3 rounds, instead of 1 round in Hearthstone, or you may lose badly in the following rounds.
Other than that, love the art, pretty balanced. May settle in forever if Hearthstone keep going on the bad direction.

PS. While Cyberpunk has been released recently, I may have to let go Gwent for a while. A long while.

He-he, I guess all those games against AI in Witcher 3 paid off for me 😄 Yeah, the base idea can be daunting for newcomers. But I think it's worth trying out, at least as a weekend-only fun. Glad that you enjoy it!

Have fun in the long awaited Cyberpunk! I'm hyped up too, just have to hope that my laptop GPU will hold up with those details 😩

I'm a player of it. I took it up after I got sick of the overly snowbally game play of LoR. I enjoy it a lot but the only complaint I have about it is that it is so strictly mathematical. What I mean by that is that the strictly number based victory goals make it hard to play anything off meta or bother with tech cards since they will lose you the game the vast majority of the time. A good deck often extremely efficient and does things with ruthless efficiency, I've been having a lot of trouble facing monster decks lately. That said I don't want to sound like I dislike the game, I think it has great art and is actually more balanced than most games out there, and its unique enough to offer something different from other collectable card games. I think the game would be more enjoyable if I had friends to play it with that allowed playing it without feeling like I had to use nothing but the most powerful decks in the meta. That said the same can be claimed about HS and LoR as well since any game is better when you take it less seriously.

    Hey there!

Yeah, I get your point. The game has very strict card effects, and I can see the lack of variance/rng along with number-based win condition could make the gameplay less appealing in the long run.

Here, I'm playing some unoptimized version of Skellige meta deck, missing most of the legendaries, as my main deck. Also I like Northern Realms and Monsters, I have decks of random cards from packs for those. I usually lose with them on ladder, which doesn't feel too good, but I don't feel the need to win like in HS.

My ingame name is Ethardoth, feel free to add me if you want (you can pm me here too, for other options). I'm all in for trying and discussing different deckbuilding ideas, and power of individual cards. Also, bragging about the pulls from kegs 😁

    Hello everyone,

I just recently started playing Gwent, frustration over the Hearthstone BP incentivized me to give it a shot. I also love Witcher 3 and started playing it again, so I'm having a really good time gaming after a while.

I wanted to check, what's the situation here, is anybody playing it? Saw an old thread about it, it seemed to me that people here weren't optimistic about the game back then.

If anybody is interested, it would really make me happy to make some in-game friends :)

By the way, I would recommend the game to anyone who's into Witcher and loves card games. The cards have beautiful art and flavor, and playstyle feels more strategic compared to HS. The reward system feels good for now, but I'm still a noob and can't be objective here yet.

You still need a bot and electricity and device life are not free.

I have no idea why you're equating this to that

Because it may be cheaper to buy packs for money than to pay for electricity for “free” pack

But then you're supporting Blizzard with your money. Which is the polar opposite of what most people want to do currently.

Saving environment by preserving energy should be more important than boycotting a greedy company.

Anyways, I just think it's too small of amount of exp to rationalize afk-ing BG. Maybe in ranked it's worth it in terms of personal gain, but you ruin other's entertainment. If you want to send Blizzard a message, it's probably better to play less, rather then increasing their playtime numbers with afk-ing.

Playing the game naturally is healthier for everyone.

Well, you can also just buy packs if financial aspect is not a problem. That's why I made that point, clawz.
