Now that the meta's starting to settle, and the first vs report and kripp's crafting guide are out, I'd be interested to know what you're planning to craft, or have recently crafted.
For me, I'm planning to craft zephrys, dinotamer brann, plus one of snake trap, rat trap and masked contender, which will give me a good highlander hunter deck. Will also craft 2 x psychopomp for a combo priest deck. Gonna hold off until I unpack 1 more legendary though, in case I get anything I need from packs first.
Conjurer's Calling is just a problem. Dropping a Mountain Giant on turn 4-5 then multiplying it with this card is just too frustrating to deal with for non-aggro decks. And it's a twinspell, making it doubly frustrating. Maybe the mana cost will be upped, or the twinspell mechanic removed.
Agreed. I was pretty astounded that there were no understatted 8-drops released for uldum, as well as there being 2 broken 10-drops introduced. Imo, this would have solved the problem of conjurer's calling being a consistently busted play, without having to meddle with the card itself.
Loving Frightened Flunky in taunt warrior atm. It fills the 2-mana slot perfectly and can create insane value when it repeatedly discovers itself. Also makes games run faster now as it, along with the rest of the taunt package, enables much more proactive plays than in last season's control warrior.
Token druid was tier 1/2 the whole RoS expansion..
Yeah but it was initially seen as the unstoppable God-tier deck of the meta, before settling down to being a pretty fair deck that could be easily countered.
Murloc pally smells like an early meta meme deck to me. I reckon it'll vanish eventually as other decks get more refined.
I do agree with you about taunt / control warrior, though. I unpacked Armagedillo yesterday and put the taunt package into the existing control warrior shell. This looks like a deck that's here to stay, as it's basically a refinement of an existing t1 deck. I think it's highly likely that this is the expansion that sees Dr. Boom, Mad Genius getting nerfed
Awesome! BB was my golden leg after hitting r5 for the first time. Sadly DEd him to craft some other nonsense, but glad to hear he's finally found his place in the wild meta ;)
Damn. Was hoping the late reveal on priest legendaries, plus the poor state of priest in the meta, meant the class was getting some insane, or at least interesting, legendaries.
Bit of token hate here, too. Turn 8 Flakmage secret secret will clear up any soul of the forest / murloc shenanigans. Parallels with shaman's Earthquake
I think you're right about overinvestment. For aggro I tend to look for northshire, evil conscriptor and extra arms, and I'm not sad if I end up with a mass hysteria in my opening hand.
If I can get an infiltrator to stick, then hide a spirit of the dead behind it and other taunts, that's often enough to control my way to victory. Even if I don't draw bwonsamdi, top-decking those 1-cost minions gives me a steady stream of threats.
Forbidden words sounds like a good idea, but what to cut? Sn1p sn4p is a dubious inclusion as, while you can end up with multiple copies of it into your deck, you can end up shuffling the 1:1s, which seriously dilutes your deck.
Test subject could go: while the idea of getting extra arms back from it is decent value, the combo doesn't tend to come off too often, and it ends up being a dead draw.
Weaponised pinata is an option too, although the random legendaries it drops can make for a lot of fun :)
I'm gonna try ditching 2 x test subject for 2 x forbidden words. Will let you know how it goes...
I've been dying to get Bwonsamdi, the Dead to work in a deck ever since I unpacked him during Rastakan. I'm not much of a deck builder, but I have quite a lot of priest cards and figured I'd have a go at putting them to use. I love the idea of using bwonsamdi along with Spirit of the Dead as a value generator, getting lots of 1-mana minions shuffled into my deck before pulling them out with bwonsamdi for some insane late game value. When it works, it's glorious, but the deck does struggle in the early game.
Please take a look and give me your suggestions and be kind, as I'm pretty new to deck building!
There should be a special circle of hell for people who play control warrior in casual. Why would you do that to another human being?

What about you?

First time I've properly hoarded gold for a new expansion. Pretty happy with the payoff.
Ended up with 57 packs including the 3 from the legendary quest.
Got Unseal the Vault as my free quest, which has been working fairly well for me in a beast token deck.
Pack openings also gave me:
Making Mummies
Sir Finley of the Sands
High Priest Amet
Siamat
Armagedillo
Also got 14 epics
Unseal the Vault here, plus got Making Mummies from packs.
Hunter quest is nowhere near as broken as some of the other quests, but it's a lot of fun. Haven't really play the pally quest yet.
Having lots of fun with quest hunter atm. Got from 5 with 0 stars to r4 fairly comfortably.
Using jambre's list but swapped out 1 x Deadly Shot and 1 x Hunter's Mark for 2 x Revenge of the Wild. Found it really helps with quest completion after a big Unleash the Hounds or Swarm of Locusts
Whizbanging all the way, here. Not sure how good the decks are, but they're pretty fun!

I always liked Scourgelord Garrosh - Failure!

I don't remember there being a frost festival last year - although I could be wrong.
Wasn't it just a one-off event on the run-up to the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion release two years ago?
Damn. Was hoping the late reveal on priest legendaries, plus the poor state of priest in the meta, meant the class was getting some insane, or at least interesting, legendaries.
Instead we're getting... combo priest?

Takes me back to my Raging Worgen glory days. RIP Charge
Hi mate, thanks for replying:)

Oops, yes I meant mech pally. Well spotted.
Edited my post to reflect this
Does the new hero power retain the buffs on the minions it copies, in the same way that Shadowy Figure does for priest?
If so, mech paladin just got op as heck. 2 mana 2:2 with divine shield, taunt, deathrattle summon a 7:7 and a bunch of 1:1s, anyone?
