    Here are my stats

    Packs opened: 107

    Commons: all

Rares: almost all (missing second Underbelly Angler, both Sunreaver Warmage and both Recurring Villain)

Epics: 23 (+1 golden), but got 5 Hench-Clan Hag and 4 Magic Carpet

Legendaries: 4 (Barista Lynchen, Scargil, Swampqueen Hagatha and Fel Lord Betrug)

If I have to judge my opening, I'd say I am a bit unsatisfied: I was expecting at least 1 more legendary (Oblivitron/Arch-Villain Rafaam) and a couple different epic (I would have loved to get Nine Lives and Big Bad Archmage), but here we are anyways.

I've been hitting at least rank 5 every month since RoS launch, but I failed to get legend for the first time. I guess it was an ok result of mine

Surprised you didn't craft that second Underbelly Angler for some sweet murloc shaman action. Given you unpacked Scargil and Swampqueen Hagatha, I'd have thought it was an easy decision. Any reason why?

In RoS the villains got lackey synergies and throwback cards, eg forbidden words, while other characters got twinspells. HS seems to be distinguishing the two groups of characters while still retaining a balance

Pretty sure there's some sweet stuff ahead for the SoA

    Welcome!

Leeroy Jenkins is the first legendary I tend to go for when I'm building a new account. He's in the classic set, so he shouldn't rotate out, plus he's a mainstay in a wide range of low cost, aggro decks. Zilliax is similarly good, although he rotates out next spring.

Having said that, as others have said above, you're better to focus on the deck you want to play, then work out which cards you need for it, rather than focusing on crafting standalone cards

Whizbang the Wonderful and Zayle, Shadow Cloak are great cards if you just want to play a bunch of different decks and explore different playstyles, but they aren't really competitive and aren't the  best picks if you're trying to build a collection

I have all the cards for aggro shaman except 2 x Thunderhead, and I'd be interested to know if you think it's worth crafting for the deck. I realise the deck isn't super competitive atm (vulnerable to warrior, etc.), but it looks like a whole lotta fun. I have other aggro decks  but shaman looks a bit different, with its insane burst and draw. However, I'm conscious that it's nearing the next expansion and I should perhaps be saving my dust for that.

So, in your opinion, is the deck fun enough to justify the extravagance of crafting the two epics?

So many free stuff coming, nice :)

I just hope this isn't a replacement for double gold for all quests, though. I was counting on the cash injection the fire festival usually brings to help fill the coffers for the next expansion

Pretty sure there was a guy on the old site posted a pic of his kingsbane tattoo, which was pretty badass imo. Not sure if he migrated over here but, if he did, he'll maybe find his way to this thread.

Some sort of cyclone mage variant, maybe? Span a bunch of cheap spells and fill your board.

£30 for potentially zero legendaries? That's a hard pass from me

I used to love the Dragonlance book series when I was a kid. When I started playing Hearthstone, the classes I liked most were warlock and warrior, who put me in mind of Raistlin and Caramon Majere, the dark mage and warrior who were brothers in the series. So, Majere.

Year of the dragon doesn't necessarily mean lots of dragons.  We didn' t have a raven expansion with YotR.

And we didn't really have any real time with mechs, thanks to boomsday being low power and doing a power reset year.  IMO it's a good time for mechs to show up.  Beasts will return in due time.

Agreed, but there is no 'raven' tribe in hs. I like to think that year of the dragon will at least attempt to push some dragon archetypes.

I realise the name of the year may be a name alone, but I live in  hope. More dragons and less mechs would be fun imo, especially with the release of some high profile dragon minions that have yet to fully flourish (nozari, kalecgos), and given their association with dalaran, it would be a viable direction for the next expansion if it were to push some dragon-focused archetypes among the "good-guy" classes, as a retaliation against the villainous onslaught of rise of shadows.

Complete speculation on my part, but a guy can dream...

I'm hoping year of the dragon will live up to its name in the next expansion.

Given paladin seems to be relatively low-key in the current meta, I wonder if dragon buff-paladin will get some support with the next set of cards - dragonspeaker is lots of fun to play with in the solo adventure. Plus there are some pretty decent dragon-synergising cards still hanging around from rastakan, etc, which I'm hoping will come into their own with a bit more support.

    Fingers crossed :)

I think a lot of bomb warrior decks are leaving out Archivist Elysiana in favour of a more mid-range approach.

The bottom line is that it depends on what deck you're build.

Hi all, popping my OOC cherry here, so go easy...

I was just wondering what people's experience of archivist elysianna is in control warrior. I unpacked her last weekend and crafted the last few epics I needed to make the deck and have been having a lot of fun with it, but I've been a bit disappointed in the performance of elysianna. It seems like most games end before fatigue, so I rarely have cause to use her, which is a shame  as the idea of having to quickly draft a new deck at the end of a game seems like a lot of fun.

I just wanted to know what other players' experience of the deck has been. How often do you actually play elysianna? Are there circumstances in which you use her not just as an anti-fatigue tool (eg vs bomb warrior, etc)? Or, if you don't run her, do you feel it makes much of a difference to your win rate?

Love to hear your thoughts :)
